Does anybody remember when Sammy Swindell hit the push truck? If sprint cars are so quick to turn why did Sammy not move out of the way of the push truck. Tony Stewart had the same thing as Sammy.

and in Sammys case - the YELLOW was not out...but rather some clown in a pickup truck was driving in the racing groove!
but an interesting comparison - had either driver left their hands off the wheel the car would have turned LEFT all by itself...staggering...huh?

Cobra is correct again as Sammy had just set 'Quick Time'..... And yes, the truck driver was to have turned into the infield but missed his turn and had a brain fart....

I feel terrible laughing so hard.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

The car that the push truck was pushing did not start until it was too late for him to pull into the infield, he basically was an innocent bystander, and probably never in that situation before

Not trying to place blame on anyone, as i feel it was equal at fault for both... but the people saying you need to steer the car with the throttle and that why he stood on it... is bs. Yes i have driven a sprint car, and at 35-40 mph the car will respond to steering wheel only input, without having to throttle it.

thank you for stating the obvious purpose of a steernig wheel
if steering a sprint car under the caution required popping the throttle - how would drivers ever be able to line the cars back up for these famed WoO double wide restarts...huh?

lol exactly, so sick of hearing all the media say "you can only turn these cars by giving it throttle". Sad part is there are people out there who are probably buying it.

A 20 year old just lost his life; probably too soon to be making jokes, just sayin'.

Ok, but in one case we are under GREEN and the other case we are under YELLOW. Big difference I'd say.

Makes me thankful that our local track has a flagman who makes sure that the track is clear of the previous qualifier and push trucks before throwing the green. Wow! What a concept!!!
