Earlier today I read the news release regarding the autopsy and something in the original release caught me as strange.  The person speaking said something to the effect, "at the request of the medical examiner, we are not releasing the results of the toxicology report."  (I don't recall what was said word for word and now can't seem to find that press release).  If you dissect that statement it seems like the sheriff's office wanted to release it but the medical examiner said no.

Not having a legal or criminal justice background, I'm curious why they would even that.  I don't think it would have even garnered a second look from me if they would have said "due to ongoing investigation we are not releasing the toxicology report".  Could someone with a little more eperience in this arena try to explain why the sheriff's office stated it in this manner rather than just keep silent about it?  Maybe its just me, but that seemed strange.

i'm not arguing but i thought the sheriff said at the request of the med examiner they were not releasing the rest of the autopsy report. i didn't think i heard toxicology report.

i could have heard wrong or misunderstood.

It is my understanding that a complete Toxicology report can take weeks, look it up.  This isn't CSI Canandaigua
