I think the point is, The National Open wants to be one of the "Big Ones", time to start paying like one. BRR, your posse guys who end their Nationals in the D or C mains will make more money than a guy who finishes near the back of the A at the open.
Until then it's a tier 2 event far behind the Nationals and Royal.
