Heat one (started): 1. Justin Henderson (2) 2. Sammy Swindell (4) 3. Chris Martin (1) 4. Tim Kaeding (5) 5. Lynton Jeffrey (3) 6. Donovan Peterson (7) 7. Matt Juhl (6) 8. Eric Schulz (8) 9. Justin Glaser (9)

Heats were ten laps in distance with the top two finishers heading to the Dash.  Henderson shot out to the early lead, while Swindell shot by Martin into second right away.  Glaser exited on lap one, and Schulz on lap six.  Juhl lost a left rear wheel and cartwheeled into the fence, crashing wildly.  He would be o.k. and the team would thrash and get him ready for the A.

Heat two (started): 1. Ian Madsen (2) 2. Craig Dollansky (1) 3. Mark Dobmeier (4) 4. Terry McCarl (3) 5. Dusty Ballenger (5) 6. Paul Jeffrey (6) 7. Dale Furby (8) 8. Tasker Phillips (7)

Madsen jumped into the lead right away and held it the distance.  Despite getting heat from Dobmeier, Dollansky held onto the final Dash transfer.

Heat three (started): 1. Jac Haudenschild (2) 2. Rico Abreu (4) 3. Dylan Peterson (1) 4. Sam Hafertepe Jr. (5) 5. Chuck McGillivray (6) 6. Dale Blaney (3) 7. Ryan Bickett (7) 8. Tony Rustad (8)

Haud shot to the lead right away over Abreu who got by Peterson early.  Blaney was running fourth with two to go, when he slowed drastically.  He was able to take the checkers in sixth.  Rustad exited on lap six.

Dash (started): 1. Ian Madsen (1) 2. Craig Dollansky (2) 3. Sammy Swindell (5) 4. Jac Haudenschild (3) 5. Rico Abreu (4) 6. Justin Henderson (6)

Madsen led the 6-lap distance over Dollansky.  Haud was third early before Swindell grabbed the spot on lap two.

A main (started): 1. Ian Madsen (1) 2. Rico Abreu (5) 3. Sammy Swindell (3) 4. Jac Haudenschild (4) 5. Terry McCarl (9) 6. Tim Kaeding (13) 7. Dylan Peterson (12) 8. Lynton Jeffrey (8) 9. Chuck McGillivray (16) 10. Dusty Ballenger (14) 11. Chris Martin (11) 12. Sam Hafertepe Jr. (15) 13. Matt Juhl (25) 14. Craig Dollansky (2) 15. Mark Dobmeier (7) 16. Donovan Peterson (19) 17. Dale Furby (23) 18. Paul Jeffrey (17) 19. Justin Henderson (6) 20. Ryan Bickett (21) 21. Eric Schulz (20) 22. Dale Blaney (10) 23. Tony Rustad (22) 24. Justin Glaser (24) 25. Tasker Phillips (18)

Before a lap could be completed, Phillips got into the turn four wall and flipped.  He was ok.  Schulz lost a nose wing at the same time and went to the work area.  Madsen jumped into an early lead in the 30-lapper over Swindell and Dollansky.  With six laps in the books, Hafertepe spun in turn two bringing caution.  Madsen had the lapped car of Juhl between he and Swindell, Dollansky, Abreu and Haudenschild.  Blaney retired druing the caution as well.  The lead quartet remained the same through heavy traffic.  Swindell made a bid for the lead when Madsen had trouble lapping Hafertepe on lap 19.  At that point, Henderson got into the turn two wall and flipped.  He was ok.  Madsen held his lead and appeared to be closing on the win, when Dollansky blew a right rear tire on the last lap.  The restart saw Madsen leading Swindell, Abreu, Haud and McCarl.  The green, white, checker finish saw Madsen hold on for his second All Star win at Huset’s in as many years, and Abreu grabbed second from Swindell on the last lap.  The track was racy from top to bottom, with Madsen making a number of good moves in traffic to win it.

I believe Sammy had a flat tire at the finish.

A nice full field of All Stars at Huset's.  Any ideas of who or how many cars may be traveling out to the Williston Basin Speedway for the doubleheader this week?

Unfortunately not many. Hopefully some of your fellow NOSA racers are headed out that way, or they might be challenging the number of cars that Hibbing MN had when the All Stars were there last season.

I just went a looked up Hibbing from last year.  Only 8 cars.  I spoke with several NOSA guys that last time we ran with them and most can't make it due to being a mid week show and all the way across that state, especially with a race in Grand Forks on Friday and the next night in Glydon, MN.  I hope we can get enough cars to hopefully show that this can be a viable stop for them and bring them back next year.

Did something happen to Dobmeier? Unusual to see him go backward at Husets. Sorry if I missed it in the write up somewhere. Btw thanks a bunch for the write up Bill W. I always enjoy your results and stories!

Unless you get some 360's from Montana, that's probably what you'll have for car count.  I know of you 3 cars from Minot will probably be there.

Lately, only a few NOSA drivers travel outside of Grand Forks for the specials. In the past couple of weeks, Winnipeg only had 12 cars, Devils Lake had 20 & just last Saturday @ Jamestown, there was just 13 cars racing those shows.

I hope we get a decent car count out in Williston. There is a real possibility that if this goes good we could be looking at a lot of corporate sponsership next time. It would be a mistake if we don't get a decent car count. If this turns out to be a good show this town will really get behind it next year. I just found out it is a 2 day show. Like I say, if this goes over good it could mean a lot of money next year. I bet we could get sponsers to pay good tow money to everyone. I hope the drivers support this. There is a lot of money to be had out in Williston.  If the drivers support this show I bet it could probablly pay more than any other race besides the nationals next year.

Good account of the actual happenings.

Apparently you can start a restart at the beginning of turn 3. Ian got called for it once only to wait two more billboards and be good the rest of the night. Tip of the Cap to Ian for pushing it and nothing  got called after that. No need for a cone on the frontstretch anymore.

It also is confirmed that the VIP on the midway was cheering for Sammy to win. Hell hasn't frozen over as the heat indexes over 100 today.

And Rico has the biggest balls in the pit area. Watching him on the fence in time trials and not lifting was amazing.
