Travis Bickel had 2 severe strokes last night in Indianapolis

and is in a coma. Please say your prayers for him and wife Lisa

to help them get through this. Everyone that knows Travis knows what a

great person he is and we all want him to get better.

Our prayer are with Travis and his family. We got to see him last week at the I-44 mini sprint nationals. He's a great guy and if anyone can pull through this it would be him.

This happened to Travis? OMG surely not. Greg is right, Travis is a great guy and if anybody can pull through this, it would be Travis.

I know that he does frequent this website and I think his mom and dad do too. With that said, Mike, please tell Travis to fight through this as all of us "okies" will be praying for him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bickel family and Travis, we have know him and the family for a long time.  In fact when my Son Brian was at OU Travis was in the room next to him in the Dorm. Also Ricky Miller from Long Island, New York who took over my column in Gater Racing News when I left in 1973 had a stroke, he was around the age of Travis and pulled through it with rehab and is fine today. Someone please email me [email protected] his home address so I can put something in my column I am putting together for Hoseheads.com today. Thanks.

Is this Mike Bickel's son? I knew him when his Dad was running that coil-over Champ car. He is one of those that this sport needs more of.

Brian:

This is Mike and Betty Bickel's son, and Dennis Bickel's brother.

He moved to Indianapolis 3 years ago to work for Ganassi Racing.

He helped Larry Neighbors and Billy Turner on their race cars.
