DAVIS #1 AT PRESCOTT VALLEY, #2 IN POINTS

Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz. hosts the next round of this year's USAC Southwest Sprint Car series, July 12.

Series point leaders R.J. Johnson and Charles Davis Jr. have captured all the headlines so far at Queen Creek, Johnson winning twice and Davis once.

The two drivers also will continue their ongoing battle for the all-time lead in terms of USAC career wins in the Grand Canyon state. Johnson has 15 and Davis, who added one this past weekend, now has 14.

Davis, of Buckeye, Ariz., won Saturday night's 30-lap race at Prescott Valley (Ariz.) Raceway. Davis caught early leader Mike Colegrove on lap nine and led the rest of the way in his Massey Motorsports/RSS Industries Don Ott entry. Colegrove held on for second ahead of Mike Martin, Josh Shipley and Matt Rossi. Series point leader Johnson finished sixth.
