man the flag man is just another hired goon. the guy is a robot. He literally receives orders from his headset.
It;s not hard to figure out why Lanny has so many idiots workin for him. Most workers with any self-respect choose to avoid the tirades. And I bet they come cheap........if not for free. The only thing that keeps that show at the level it is --- is fans and drivers. Because the promoter and track personnel completely SUCK! Not hard to figure out how he has run Lawton completely in the ground. BMS is turning into a much better show than Lawton.
Bad officiating all the way around. Bad calls, no calls, refusal to enforce rules, screwed up rules, drivers/teams being screwed on almost a weekly basis, and then the complete disrespect shown to drivers....aw wait.....don't forget bad race tracks at times as well (lead to destruction of lots of cars). The "if you don't like then go somewhere else" mentality. Well maybe the next time Lanny is in Lawton he should take a good look around. They are going somewhere else. or nowhere else and just staying away from the bullshit. The fans too. Lawton isn't that great of a saturday night show anymore.......hell they don;t even have the best cheeseburgers anymore - ADA DOES. well maybe they did all along I just didn;t go to OSP until this year (sorry thats neither here nor there). I'm just sayin there is no reason to assume the same thing won't happen to OKC. Lanny will be the promoter at OKC as long as he's makin money.........once he's run enough people off with his shananigans and he's not makin as much he'll be gone as quick as he came. Look at the way him and the people he has hired run their shows every week..........where the hell is he doing anything to help dirt track racing???? He's hurtin it at his own track every week. SFS gets a good deal of cars and is such a potentially great track that only Lanny and his goons could find ways to screw it up. Maybe thats because more time is spent counting money than actually promoting or officiating.
A lot of the drivers and their teams need a big pat on the back because they still come out and put on a good show when every week they are given so many reasons not to. SO to drivers and teams like Joe Wood Jr. Thank you for putting up with the BS to give us some good racin to watch. There are many many fans that do greatly appreciate it.
that there is my saturday mornin rant.

I think you mean they should be UN-biased. Because they're definately biased in favor of some and against others. Remember my "Help wanted" post a couple weeks ago? I hope things get better for you there.

That deal was unbelieveable. Black flag, whether it was deserved or not, the guy that spins you, but let you sit there and rot. Incredible. And he wasn't that far off the track ... on a night when the yellow had been flying more freely than most. I also appreciate the people that keep coming back for our entertainment despite this sort of thing.

Neighbors was black-flagged for spinning Joe, who came to rest just before the entry to turn three infield. The car was left there for the duration of the race.

I think when they leave a person sitting in the proximity of the track it is at the discretion of the flag man to throw the yellow. At the SFS the flag man has a head set on and is not able to make his own decisions, so at "our" speedway, someone else is making the decisions. I think that the yellow should be thrown more quickly and more forgivingly in the sprint car classes because you KNOW that they can't drive off. Not to bash you other guys in any way, it's just how sprint cars operate, we all know this. If there were consisitancy in the officiating, we may get a lot more drivers traveling in, but I think "clicks" at other tracks, bad mouth other tracks and rumour runs rampid in the dirt track world. So in closing, I am thankful for the drivers that show up and put on a hell of a show each week and I am thankful for the facility we have, but I also understend that this is the way racing in OKC is and will be under the current promoter.
