SPRINT CARS STAMPEDE INTO TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY

Haubstadt, IN - June 16, 2014. The next racing event at Tri-State
Speedway will present the optimum program to satisfy every sprint car
fan’s viewing pleasure. The excitement at the Southern Indiana
Sprint Stampede will be two fold on June 21st. The Hoosier Tire
Midwest Sprint Car Series will be in action. They will be running
Hoosier style without a wing. The Midwest Open Wheel Association
winged sprint cars will also be racing outlaw style during a separate
portion of this unique double header. It is the only night this year
that fans will be able to watch winged and non wing racing on the
same card.

It will be the third of nine racing events to be held at Haubstadt
for the Midwest Sprint Car Series in 2014. The speedway continues to
serve as the home port for the traveling series. The track has had
six or more MSCS events on each season’s schedule since 2006. So the
ability to compete effectively and win at the Haubstadt quarter mile
is one of the keys to taking the MSCS Points Championship.

The appearance of the winged warriors of the MOWA Sprint Car Series
follows the recent appearance of the World Of Outlaws at Haubstadt in
early May. Six MOWA regulars competed with the outlaws that evening.
Those laps may prove to be valuable experience for the upcoming
event. The series has already appeared 8 times at 7 tracks this
season. There have been 6 different feature winners. Jerrod Hull of
Sikeston, MO, currently leads the MOWA Points Standings.

The current points leader for the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car
Series is Kyle Cummins. Cummins is the third different driver to
lead in points this season. The points lead has been an exchange
between Hunter Schuerenberg, Jon Stanbrough, and Cummins. Stanbrough
is currently fourth in points behind Bradley Sterrett and Carson
Short. Brady Short is fifth. Schurenberg is now just one spot out
of the top ten. There are still eleven full opportunities for
drivers to improve their standing. The Series Title is usually fair
game on into September and October until the Harvest Cup finale.

Ten different drivers are eligible so far to compete for the MSCS
Rookie of the Year.
The cut-off date for drivers to declare with the series is July 15th.
There are still 3 races on the schedule prior to that date. James Lyerla
of Hillsboro, IL, currently leads Aaron Farney and Daylan Chambers in
rookie points. Ethan Fleetwood and Charlie Belden Jr. are the next two
rookie drivers in the standings. The top three are separated by just 23
points.

The Southern Indiana Sprint Stampede will pay $2,000 to the winner of
both sprint car features. Heat races will begin at 7:30 P.M.(
C.D.T.) with engine warm-ups and hot laps to be held earlier between
six and six-thirty. Mark your racing calendar for Saturday, June
21st. Last year Kevin Thomas Jr. of Cullman, AL, won the inaugural
MSCS feature for this newly devised race while Shane Stewart of
Bixby, OK, took the MOWA feature. Regular MSCS campaigner Robert
Ballou was the only driver to do double duty. He finished in the top
ten in both 25 lap feature races!
