I'd like to get his signature on two items before he stops coming up this way, checked his website and nothing.  Anyone know?  Thanks!

I went to the River Cities opener a few weeks ago and there were 29 410 sprints there. Pretty impressive I thought.

But you'll likely have to wait in line to meet and talk to the best sprint car driver that has ever lived. Sammy will just pack up and leave. He beat me out of Knoxville last Saturday and I was on the road 45 minutes after the race. There were others who did too - not singling him out, but yeah, he's not Steve Kinser on any level in regards to driving a sprint car.

Yo' ford97, I will bet another C-Note that Missouri can buy and sell you a few times over, aligning yourself with that kind of nickname tells most of us all we need to know about you, lol.....

Sammy was around longer than Dobmeier.  Son wanted a #13 shirt, but he was gone before the front gates opened.  Sammy was pitted on back and was there long enough for my daughter to get her shirt signed and pic taken.  Not "The King" on any level is a quite a statement Sprintfan16.  I'm 34 and will miss watching both of the legends in the coming years.

Excuse me, I made a grammatical error. I bet that's the first time that has happened on here, and I'm sure you have never made one. Must be nice to be perfect. Thing is, your reply didn't indicate whether you're willing to back up your statement and take my offer. All your reply did was criticize, again.

Why the heck does it matter if Steve or Sammy stick around to sign autographs for people?

Does this really matter if little jake and Suzy get autographs from these guys really?

leaving a racetrack is now a dick move on the part of every driver? Or these two guys only?

Guess in all sports this is a common practice to sign memorabilia after a event.

Sammy and Steve owe the fans I forgot

Peyton Manning didn't hang around after the superbowl and getting beat to sign

I bet Lebron didn't hang out after the finals to sign

every driver is personified on if he signs after a damn race or not I guess

thats good to know

people call Sammy a whiner but the fact is that the fans whine more then Sammy ever could cause they do it in huge crying numbers about Sammy

Wow, I have never seen it put this way before.  But really ask yourself?

Have you ever left work at quitting time, why don't you hang out everynight with people at the job?

How do you feel after a 12 hour work day when you know you have 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours of driving to do.

Have you ever worked on a team and know what their schedule is?

How about this.

Arrive at the track by 2:00, get signed in.  Unload the T shirt trailer and get that all set up, Now unload all the racing eqpt and ready for work.  Spent the next 6 hours racing and working on the car.  Now spend 1 to 2 hours signing autographs, get everything loaded back up, go load the t shirt trailer up.  Leave the track 12:00-2:00am (wwhen you are lucky).  Go grab a quick bite, go to the car wash, clean all the equipment.  Almost 4 am and hopefully we have a hotel instead of driving all night.  8 am up and ready to go.  Oh wait, the race car and eqpt need it's daily maintenance.  Take a few hours to do that.  Now it's time to be a the next track.

Notice what is missing.  Sleep, showers, unwind time, rest and meals.  If you ever stop to think, these guys don't get a lot of time on the season to rest, eat or sleep.  It's a tough job and I think Sammy, Steve and many others do all they can for the fans.  Next time you want to bash, ask them if you could spend a week or two on the road with them.  I bet you see the light.  I know, I have.  And feel free to chime in on the things they do that i missed.....
