Long time listener first time caller...I made my 1st trip to Knoxville this past Sat. 80 cars with 3 classes of sprint cars...WOW some great racing all night. When I came into town it was like something I have never seen, I have seen some things on TV about Knoxville the track, the town, but when you get to see it in person it`s something I will never forget. I don`t know how much time I have left in this world but I sure hope I get back there some day.

Glad you got to have that experience.  I had the same experience two years ago myself.   I'm from Dallas and go on the road once a year with a few guys to hit a sprint car race somewhere.   Knoxville, Eldora, and Williams Grove had always been on my "bucket list".    Two years ago I talked the guys into hitting Knoxville for the 360 Nationals.   When I walked into the place I almost felt like I was on hallowed ground.    We enjoyed the experience so much we immediately made plans to come back in 2013 for the 410 Nationals, and now this will be a yearly thing for us.    Still have Eldora and the Grove to go, but I sure love the trip to Knoxville.    Would love to go just for a weekly show too.    If I can talk the wife into it, I may make a run up there before the Nationals.

It`s just me now, most of the guys have gone on... My son has talked me into hitting the road and seeing some of the places we only see on TV and on line...he got me this new lap top a few weeks ago, sure beats that old slow thing I was using. Thinking of making some plans for the Nationals...that is truly on my bucket list.

This put a smile on my face this morning... and happy you got to enjoy the experience.

Those of us who get to attend weekly at Knoxville are spoiled..some forget how lucky we really are.

As far as the racing, this year has been spectacular from start to finish, with the caliber of drivers competing weekly.  Looking forward to another great, but exceptional season.

It is addictive! I live in Ft Worth and I talked a race buddy of mine into going to the Nationals in 1994. We now will be going for the 21st time this year. Can't imagine a summer without the Nationals. By the way the other races you should put on your bucket list is the Indiana Spint week in July. I did my first Sprint week 10 years ago and will be going again this year for the 6th trip (couldn't make it a couple of years and really missed it).

With everthing that has gone on in the last couple of years I have made up my mind to see more places and more tracks this year than I have ever done before. I got back home from Knoxville on Sunday afternoon and started looking on line and I will be leaving for Jacksonville for the outlaw race. I will be there early to see the town and the track...I don`t know what is in town but I am sure there will be something to do before the races.

Grandstands are already "sold out" for Jacksonville, you better call the track to see what kind of seating they have in the pit area (not much from what I've heard).

Thank You for that... but I am sure I can find something, like I said it just dosen`t matter anymore I will find a seat or even somewhere to stand I will be there to see that race. This is how I will do it from now on.... I have loved sprint car racing for a long time and I will not let anything from stopping me from seeing this type of racing. I am sure that if they want my money they will find me a place to set or stand. I will say thank you for the info...

Jacksonville will define bullring like you probably have never seen, there will be some rubbin and racin' this Wednesday for sure.  You might have more fun hanging around the track before the races than anything in town, pretty sure of that.....

The first time you ever walk into the Grandstands at Eldora and look down at the hole in the ground with the racetrack around it you will about gasp, nothing has ever caught my attention more at any racetrack I've ever been to.....

The Grove is as much about the racefan as it is the facility.  They love their track and their racers, you have to get there when the bad guys are in town, you won't forget the whole day from tailgaiting to the checkers, an experience everybody needs once in their life...

Hitting the trifecta above will make anyone smile near the end, believe me....

Spoiled or not, if you get to attend Knoxville every week I gotta say I'm jealous.     I wish we had something in the Dallas area that was even half as good as Knoxville.   Unfortunately, racing in this area sucks.   The only weekly sprints are 305  until ASCS comes to town.    If you go to one of the 1/4 mile tracks that run 305, then you have to sit through seven other classes that you don't wanna see.    I don't care to watch the 305s at Devils Bowl.    Sad thing that I have to go out of town to see good racing!

I know it's a little "out of the way", and doesn't have the same aura as Knoxville, Eldora, and Williams Grove, but if you have ANY chance at all to see a World of Outalws STP Sprint Car Series race at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND, I highly recommend it!  I've seen racing at 340 tracks in 4 countries, and River Cities is my favorite.

Johnny knows his stuff, and I have to agree 100%. I live 2 hours north of Grand Forks so I usually make about 5-6 treks a year to this crazy little bullring. The outlaws have had some wild shows there over the past few years, as well as some big Late Model shows with 50 plus cars in the pits. The weekly program is a great value too with, sprints, lates, mods and streeters. Hoping they can start their season this fri cause I'm itching to go. Knoxville Nationals is the crown jewel of sprintcars and Im proud to say this year will be number 20 for me. Eldora and Williams grove are two other places I gotta get to.

Your the guy I hear on line all the time when I`m listening to the races...you do a very good job. As for as race tracks being a little out of the way, there is no such thing anymore.
