Where in the hell are they going to park them if not in the infield? There is no where else.

Out behind turn 3 where all the overflow Late Models park. Said for along time if they had someone that knew what they were doing the big rigs would park towards front stretch & taper down according to size towards the backstretch.

easy solution...don't sit on the bottom row, I've never had an issue with a hauler in the infield in my 25 years of going there
do it in the dirt

I've been saying the Samething about getting the semi's out the infield for years... Open trailers only.. Hell if they did do that, it would be a blast to watcb the race from the infield..
Craig: "There is dirt in my beer"
Tony: "That means your at a real racetrack"

I can't say I've ever had an issue with sightlines either and I usually sit about half way up.

You can sit halfway up and see just the tops of the wings when there running the bobby Allen groove,
its a thought is all, cause it would enhance the experience.

You must be going to a different Eldora than the rest of us. The haulers have always been an issue there - sit in the turn three bleachers...can't see going in to turn one and two. Sit in turn four, can't see turn two......and so on.
Even easier solution - get the rigs out of the pits!

I've got an extra campsite in the front row that I'd rent out to a team(for an inflated price,of course)HAHAHA!!.....Hell, we've been in our site on a Wed. before the Royal & had a hauler park right in front of us!!! There wasn't anyone around for 200yds!!! We've had more of a problem with 'em outside of the track than in over the last 40yrs!!

I sit in 3 and 4... and on the front stretch. Never had a problem! Even if they decided to put the rigs on the outside you people would bitch that the show takes too long to get cars on and off the track. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
do it in the dirt

The cars would still be in the pits. Just the haulers would be outside, just like knoxville.

nobody is bitching , it was a suggestion is all it was........ If you could read the thread a little more since your chiming in then you would read that I suggest to put the cars in the infield with there carts and tents like Knoxville, Tony won't due anything else with the royal to improve it then at least let us see it better.

All tracks shouldn't have haulers in infield to block site lines for fans , it would be nice but unless you complain or don't show up this won't change . If they do for other divisions at Eldora why not sprints ?

The obviously have the space for the haulers outside the pits as they park a TON of them outside @ their big Late Model shows twice a year (those fans complain about the sightlines too).
IMO, best case scenario is to take the haulers outside and have the teams unload like they do in Kville, but I doubt it will ever happen for the following reasons:
(1) - Knoxville has a paved pit area, Eldora has dirt for where they pit and concrete for the roadway areas (backwards IMO) .
(2) - Teams "rent" flatbead trailers from locals in Knoxville so they can pull a flatbead into the pit area and pull it back out after the races (how many people live right by Eldora, maybe a handful, everything else is MILES away).
(3) - They will pi$$ off the drivers and teams because they payout isn't worth the extra hassle (outside of the winner getting $50,000, the rest of the purse is underwhelming $1000 to start for the Royal with nearly 20,000 seats, (it paid $600 to start @ Jacksonville, IL on a Wednesday Night with 1500 grandstand seats and it pays $800 to start ($700 at some) at the races on Fridays and Saturdays normally). Hard to justify all the extra work for no more than the reward is.
(4) - Knoxville, you park your hauler for the week and it's readily accessible. Eldora your there for 1-2 nights and your hotels are MILES away and more than likely the drivers and teams aren't camping. Knoxville is the opposite, even the teams and drivers camp out for the week.
(5) - It's not broke, so why try to fix it?? For years and years people have put up with the poor sightlines (heck, the building in the infield causes issues, removing the trailers isn't gonna fix that) and yet they come back year after year. There are seats @ Knoxville with poor sightlines too (poles from the suites in your way for example).
(6) - Knoxville is a week long celebration whereas the King's Royal weekend is a PARTY where people get drunk, obnoxious and destructive (in 1986 and 1987 when I went, "fans" would stand along the road and "key" the side of haulers as they drove in to race because they didn't like them. Seems like people are a lot more respectful to the teams and drivers @ Knoxville.
