Great write up Buzz. I too would have hoped for a better track, but I will give Ocean a pass, as it is very rare that track is anyting less than 2 groves come main event time.
It was really neat to see Brad Furr accept the back row challenge. I was standing at the pit board when he drew the 7 pill. He said too bad fast time has to come from that far back. I said, yeah, it’s a shame the fastest guy is penalized. He said, oh well, it’s about putting on a show for the fans. When i walked up to the stands to watch, i heard he accepted that Back Row Challenge, even on a tough to pass, 1 lane track. Brad was true to his word, and did whatever he could to try and put on a show for the fans, and collect the bonus points as well, but coming from 22nd spot. Maybe this week, the track will be more racy, and whoever accepts the Back Row Challenge, will put on an even better show. There is definitely enough incentive to do it with the additional $1500 + bonus passing points. Let’s hope for a few more quality cars showing up this week and help put the Taco Bravo series back amongst the elite weekly 360 shows in the nation. The format is definitely there for it. The Tachi Palace challenge might play into one's decision this week, if they have any intention of going to Petaluma on Sat night though.

when i reminded brad he had to go out on in front of the crown for the Nobel Construction Back Row Challenge decision he told me "can't you just go out and tell them no for me"?
i told him i could, but i won't. it was about putting on a show. then when he came out on the front chute to talk to GT he started asking me about the points thing and i explained it to him. he said that made things different and that i talked him into it. i told him i wasn't trying to talk him into anything, just giving the info. still he said it was on me for talking him into it.
i hope we are still friends.
it is always a crap shoot and i trhink the track wasn't as good as brad thought and the car just wasn't right for him to advance any more.
i give brad credit for putting on a show and hope the points were of some consolation.

Great work Buzz. Yes it can be cool up there. Been making the 3hr drive north ar least twice a season and made CRA/Petaluma . CRA/SMS, Johnny Key and HK clasic. John P.has always taken care of us as we camp out of our P/U trucks and tents. Glad I found this. Dont recall coming across it last year. Anyway, only made CRA last year camped in meadow where race teams enter pits. Looked on T/Bravo page for camping info as I was told at WoO at T-Bowl this March that the aera has changed or the school has claimed that aera. Any info on this would help. Tx.
Peace, Out.

i'm not sure about camping areas or details. yes the area on the pit entrance road on the side closest to HWY 152 is in use by others. i am guessing the area on the other side of the pit entrance road on the same side as the sign in shack might be available since i have seen motor homes camped there.
if prentice sees this maybe he can clarify and offer info.
you can send me an email and i can try to find something out.
