What exactly was he doing when he decided to come back on the track and take out Sides? This guy needs his head examined! Every race he starts on the pole he cuts up to block the second starting car! He did it to Paul last night! I guess he thinks since he is clearly not the better of the two drivers he will try and get an advantage at the start! But we seen what happened at the finish!

Wow your guy won and your still pissed. You failed to mention anything about Sweet running over Madsen (Which Brad gracefully took responsibility for). He tried to gain an advantage on the start ? Really ? Cant wait to hear your theory on the age old practice of the "slide job".

I re-watched it a couple of times and was hoping there was an explanation for what happened after the contact with Sweet because something was obviously wrong with either his car or him. Sides happened to be there and was just unlucky enough to not be able to avoid it but from what I saw in the clip if Sides hadn't been there Madsen was on a path to the outside wall and was going to hit it regardless. Something was wrong and it wasn't just stupid driving by Kerry. Broken steering from the original impact and the throttle stuck possibly?

I don't think it was payback because Sweet pretty graciously apologized after the race and said it was his fault, that he just moved down the track quicker than he meant to. If somebody giving payback to someone else I doubt there would be an apology and taking the blame for it.

From the way I saw it Madsen did not know his steering was broke and drove though infield to rejoin the race and when he went to turn the car left it would not go hence heading straight into Sides. Just an accident in my book. Don't think there was anything malicious. I give Sweet a thumbs up for manning up to his mistake.

I havent seen the footage, but anytime i see Madsen and "bonehead " in the same sentance i think it is proubly par for the course. Im not impressed with his on track decisions, that being said, in the next night he looks in control, smooth, and fast! ya just never know what your going to get with him totally unpredictable. if part failure lead to this incident so be it, but i dont think he has a part failure everytime he runs someone over. hope the crews get paid well to rebuild cars..

I dont know one driver that would drive back onto a track and straight into a wall on purpose....
That being said, he clearly lost steering, and possibly lost brakes as well
Real race cars don't have fenders...

Sweet took Madsen out AND Sides out. Brad admitted fault in the contact with Kerry, which took out the 29's steering and brakes. Kerry tweeted about it this morning:

Don't see how a brake line was "ripped" off from the contact with Sweet. Maybe when he hit the wall.

Seemed like that was a long time with no steering and brakes. He must have also forgot where the mag switch is too?

What good would the mag switch do out of gear?

Please watch the video, anyone who has ever attended a race, driven a race car, thought about driving a race car, thought about attending a race would discern Madsen's action were totally involuntary. As of the result of contact with Sweet, Madsen had no more control of his car than did the individual in the 17th row, seat 4.

after watching the footage, that was purely a racing deal, ya, it sux some stuff got tore up, pointing blame is kinda a toss up, I dont think each incident was blaintant, Madsen clearly had no input to the control of his car after the primary contact with Sweet. and to think a driver can quickley kill the car and stop in a moment of realizing your just along for the ride it just isnt possible, by the time he realized he was in trouble he had already reentered the track, just a mistake and that comes with racing.. sometimes you just have to get over it and hope the next night is better.

brake lines can be ripped/damaged easily if the panhard is broken, and quite possibly not a easy observation from bystanders, typically they use one single master cylinder, any open lines will not allow any pressure in the system, the rear (inboard) or RR or combination of both will not stop the car sufficently, KM experianced the pedal going all the way to the midplate either way, Madsen did not throttle up his car on return to the track. it looks like he simply idled up to the wall clearly not turning (damaged steering) or braking to avoid it, Sides just had tuff luck for being in position for the incident.

Sir do you even know the definition of a slide job? Jumping the start like that is NOT a "slide job". It is as follows..."A manuever where one car takes the low line around a turn and allows their car to drift or "slide" up in front of the other car taking the high line, completing the pass and blocking the other car from overtaking the position". Please know what you're talking about when you comment! Madsen is notorious for jumping starts and doing what he did every time! Hell ask Jason Sides! He's done it to him a number of times! Jason jumped his ass for it too!
