Its so funny to see these driver promotion articles every week ,and see the spin on how they make the driver look good even if he finished last or didnt finish at all or even if he got in a post race fight. One in particular lately was two top twenty finishes. These guys have the imagination of a 4 year old to be able to draw a positive note out of a guy that doesnt even make the A. I guess its like making a silk purse out of a sows ear. But it is entertainment ...and if you cant finsh first so everyone will know someone has to be able to draw attention to the less fortunate.

Yes because they are going to write negativity about themselves or their driver...

Alot of it is not made up, its just a positive spin. The reason behind it is for sponsors. You can't represent a business if your press release says you got into a fist fight in the pits. It's almost like answering a police officer during a speeding ticket, your not lying to them, your just giving your own little twist as to what happened and maybe just not mentioning every little detail in hopes not to incriminate yourself too much. While the average fan might know that finishing 22nd out of 24 cars isn't a good finish, most sponsors might not fully know that information, but yet their company is mentioned in a press release that gets sent out to multiple motorsports publications so when they google the company the race team with their name comes up easier and it looks moreso like a sound investment.
I remember as a kid racing karts, I used to say I finished midpack but would leave out the part that there was only 5 karts.

I read one from the Mom/PR rep of a 10 year old go kart racer that tops them all.... "Even though his engine blew on lap 3 little johhny still earned a solid top 5 finish"... there were only 4 karts in that particular fragmented class that day...hahahaha
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.
