I will be shocked if there is any racing in central Pennsylvania before March 15.

We have been very fortunate to have the mild winters the past couple years that allow us to see racing in February.  Looks like our luck ran out finally.  Just hope that this means were rewarded with great racing all year.

The racing was real good at Volusia, according to sources that I trust. And if the local tracks just let nature take its course — letting things melt instead of plowing — it could continue in the Northeast.

How about racing snowmobiles instead of sprint cars?  Or don't they have them over there?

You all just wait !!!!  Keep on poking the monster known as posse and its rath shall be released upon you !!!
Funny thing... I was in Knoxville 2 weeks ago and looked at the track . Yep it was covered in snow just like the one in posseville. Only thing different is its not  'newsworthy" in Iowa ... we just call it WINTER !!!    And hey guess what if WINTER didnt last so F**king long here we would be racing too !!!  But i guess when ur posse you can lay claim to changing the weather patterns so that you can race more . Guess your collective MOJO wasnt aimed at the right POLAR VORTEX .  Next news flash will be  Unexpected showers have kept the die hard fans that make posse racing the legend that it is away from t he  track this spring.

In PA, they race from late February to mid November...In K-ville they race from late May to mid August, that's why snow in IA is not newsworthy...

Severe Thunderstorm in Marion County Iowa today, rain, hail and now supposed to be snow and blizzard conditions this afternoon and tonight....

Temp was 50+ degrees the past 2 days, supposed to have a high temp of 19 by Sunday and Monday....

Winter can not get over soon enough for us in Iowa either, but it makes no sense to start racing in March here either (last year it snowed all the way up through the month of May....).

Scheduling and cancelling a race is much better than not scheduling one in the first place...But, maybe that's just me... :/

It doesn't snow between now and next weekend I'd bet Lincoln is running 3/1.  I've seen a race before March 5th for 6 consecutive years in PA, Id say the scheduling has worked out fine.  As far as waiting until May, lol, it's Iowa not Antarctica, they'll have run 25 races in PA by then.  It's not hell.

considering there is still 30" of frost in the ground here in Iowa (and there is usually is at least 12" of frost until late March), scheduling any races in February, March or the first 2 weeks of April is foolish at best and would alienate more people than it would entice to come to the racetrack.

Heck, on Nice days in Iowa it's hard to get "fair-weather" fans to show up.  it has to be "perfect weather of 78 degree temps, no wind and zero clouds for some of them.

Maybe we here in Iowa have too much to do though (work, farm, take our kids to their activities, volunteer to organizations, etc. etc.) whereas those in PA just have the races to worry about....(I am joking for those who take everything literally on message boards).

Weather patterns have a lot to do with what areas of the country begin and end racing season.  I'd make the argument that the WoO doesn't look at weather patterns when determining their schedule as they lose about 1/3 of their races the first 6-8 weeks of the season to rain and cold....

Although I absolutely look forward to mavtv broadcasts from Knoxville.  I WISH PA tracks had knoxvilles television package.  Hopefully if its raining here I can still watch sprint cars from there.

Allow me to answer this...The guy is bored, he sits on hoseheads all day and puts down Posse Fan for purposes no other than creating a conflict...

Hope this helps in your understanding of the blogger board world... :/

In all fairness to dirt in your beer...If nobody took the bait, there wouldn't be a conflict... :/
