Larson is driving for Chip Ganassi Racing in the brand new TUDOR United Sportscar Championship. He's got Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan and Marino Franchitti as his teammates and a Ford V6 EcoBoost for an engine.
Race coverage starts at 1 p.m. Central Time on FOX! Can't wait!

It is racing, bottom line. That, or I could watch slalom tryouts for the Olympics....NOPE, gonna watch racin, any kind I can, until there are choices.....

Kanaan is currently in the car. They are running 2nd overall and around 2 seconds behind the leader. Larson has his helmet and suit on so his first stint should be coming up the next time the 02 pits. Rather fitting that one of our Saturday night dirt trackers is having his first stint during Saturday night!

1 hour and 45 minutes left. The 02 just got back onto the lead lap and is 4th overall. Scott Dixon will finish out the race it looks like. Larson wasn't happy with the stint he ran. He had a bit of a tough time after stalling the car and speeding on pit road.

Had to figure he was going to struggle his first time in one of those cars with the minimal time had had behind the wheel in testing. Being teamed up with two Indy 500 winning teammates is pretty heady stuff.
Love to see any driver with dirt track roots making it to he big time and Ganassi has all sorts of opportunities for a young driver.

The 02 finishes 8th in their class and 15th overall after Dixon pulled the car into the garage. The Ganassi teams just didn't have the speed, luck and reliability they usually have in this race this year. Cool to see Larson get some experience in ANOTHER discipline of racing though.

They were running up front until a flat near T1 this AM....Had to putt put all the way around to get to the pist which put them a lap down......Then the issue a couple of hours ago burried them. The Chevy cars were brutal this year...I like Kyle Larson, but I LOVE watching Chevy POUND the Fords.

They reported that Kyle wasn't happy due to stalling the car on pit exit, getting a speeding penalty and then flat spotting the tires early in his stint.
But heck, he didn't go off track and didn't hit anything.....better than Smoke did in his Rolex 24 debut!
