MSCS RELEASES THE SERIES SCHEDULE FOR 2014

Haubstadt, IN - Jan. 09, 2014. The 2014 Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint
Car Series season is scheduled to begin on Saturday night April 5th
with an appearance at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN. The
series will headline Bill Gardner’s Indiana Open Wheel.Com Racin’
Fest that night.
This will be the first of 18 MSCS sanctioned events scheduled to be
held across Indiana & Illinois this upcoming season. This is one of
the most ambitious and balanced schedules that MSCS has ever
released. 2014 has a lot of promise! Purses range from $2,000 to
$10,000 to win.
The series will then spring back into action the last weekend of
April. The Spring Showdown at Tri-State Speedway at Haubstadt, IN,
on the 26th will pair USAC with MSCS. The Spring Fling at the Terre
Haute Action Track on Sunday the 27th will include the King of
Indiana Series battling with MSCS on the half mile.
MSCS will be racing on the holiday weekends this season. Memorial
Day weekend the series will be at Bloomington Friday night, Lincoln
Park Speedway Saturday night, and Tri-State Speedway on Sunday night.
Friday night’s event on May 23rd will be the Josh Burton Memorial
Race. Saturday of that weekend, MSCS will be at Putnamville for the
second of three stops there during the season. Sunday’s Memorial
Weekend Classic at Haubstadt will again feature a joint appearance of
the KISS and MSCS Sprints.
The Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL, will host the MSCS sprints
on Friday night June 6th. This will be the first time that MSCS has
raced at the quarter mile fairgrounds facility. The series will
return to Illinois again over the 4th of July weekend. On July 5th
MSCS will be racing at Clay County Speedway in Flora, Illinois. Clay
County Speedway is a third mile oval.
Tri-State Speedway will present the MSCS Sprints twice in June. On
Saturday June 21st the MOWA Winged Sprints will split the racing card
with MSCS for the Southern Indiana Sprint Stampede. A week later on
the 28th the Summer Blast will include the POWRi Midgets & Micro
Sprints in addition to the MSCS Sprints.
The Hoosier Sprint Nationals will be at Haubstadt on August 2nd and
will pay $5,000 to the winner. However, the biggest purse drivers
will be competing for in 2014 will be at the Haubstadt Hustler on
Saturday night September 13th. That event is co-sanctioned with the
USAC & MSCS Sprints running for a top prize of $10,000 to win.
The MSCS Sprints will return to Putnamville’s Lincoln Park Speedway
in August with a $3,000 to win event scheduled for the 9th.
Bloomington Speedway will be paying $3,000 to win August 15th when
the MSCS Sprints return for the Summer Doubler.
Brownstown Speedway will host it’s very first MSCS event on August
30th. The sprints will race at Brownstown on Saturday night and then
run at Haubstadt Sunday night in the Labor Day Weekend Challenge.
A September 27th racing date at Tri-State Speedway will include the
ALMS Late Model Series along with the MSCS Sprints. The Class Track
Fall Roundup will be a unique opportunity for a fan to see both
sprints and late models during the same racing program.
Tri-State Speedway will host the MSCS Season Finale on October 11th.
The feature winner will receive the Harvest Cup. The new MSCS
Champion and Rookie of the Year will be decided and honored following
the race.
Jon Stanbrough won the 2013 MSCS Championship and the title is once
again his to defend in 2014. It was his second MSCS series title in a
row. This season MSCS drivers will face a schedule with new tracks
added to the tour. The shows co-sanctioned with USAC or part of the
KISS schedule will add to the challenges already facing the drivers
week after week. Season 14 for MSCS is just 3 month’s away!
Promoters are offering purse money totaling nearly $225,000 dollars
for the season.
If any changes or additions are necessary to the schedule, a news
release will be issued at that time. Everyone can keep up with MSCS
