What's all the hoopla with time trial points.
The 2013 Championship was won on the track, during the A Main. Here's the facts...
Opening night of the 2013 WoO season. February 15, 2013 in Florida.
Pittman wins the A Main (150 pts.)
Schatz finishes (8th - 134 pts.)
If Schatz would of passed (2) more cars and finished (6th - 138 pts.) the title would have been his.
Congratulations to the entire #9 race team...

They had a great year no doubt and should be thankful for rain outs that weren't rescheduled and the season ended last night.

Ive never been a huge Daryn Pittman fan but congratulations are in order, He withstood a helluva assault from Schatz to win the championship! "Crybaby" Donny needs to grow up! I though he has turned the corner and wasnt the typical asshole from years past but he showed his "assholism" is still alive and well! He and Sammy are 2 peas in a pod!!

I think your math is off. Under your scenario, Donny still loses the championship by 10 points.

I just wish somebody would have asked DonutKiller who should have won the title in 2009.... that was the year he won it with 12 wins, Meyers got 2nd with 9 wins I think, and Saldana got 3rd in the points but had 20 freakin wins....Pretty sure Schatz was cool with the point system that year....ain't it still basically the same point system?
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

Amen! Glad somebody else pointed this out so I didn't have to! Apparently Mr Schatz has a short memory. The Great Clips team outperformed him in 20009 and he still won the title. Sometimes payback is a bitch....

I bet Kasey and Tony watched it last night , and probably had a good time with it.
If the 15 or 9 doesn't make the dash it's all but over.
If the 9-15 blows a tire or has motor problems done.
If the 15- 9 gets into somebody's problem done.
15 wins race he wins championship if 9 survives he wins championship.
You would think if the owners are stoked then you should be too....
130+ races and it came down to last 30 laps...
Got to love it whatever the outcome ...
Turkey night here we come!!!

I was thinking during that feature too how much pressure Pittman must have felt and I'm sure thats why he just hung out in the mid-pack area knowing that he didn't have to push hard to try and win, just finish better than 15th. But theres still so much pressure of things that could happen that are really out of your hands, like a flat tire, another car crashing in front of you or hitting you, who knows. Where as the position Donny was in, he had nothing to lose, go out and try to win the thing, as well as it wasn't Donny 1st championship to race for so I'm sure the level of stress goes down some after you've won the 1st one.

From now to February, 2014 I feel quite certain Schatz will be thinking about "what if" every mornng as he goes through the drive-thru at his local Dunkin Donuts!

Backspacer,
You are correct. My bad. That's what I get for typing this while trying to figure out my FFL line-up for the day...

Haha, no prob. We knew what you were getting at though. I was talking with one of my buddies today about the LaSalle WoO show that we went to. Pittman got upside-down early in the feature, and the car appeared to be done for the night. Well, there were another red on the next restart, which gave them enough time to get the car fixed and back in the race without losing a lap. I think Daryn came back for a top ten that night. Crazy too look back at something like that now and realize just how important it was, even though it didn't seem a big deal at the time.

He led the points from the first race to the last race. Sounds pretty deserving to me. Congrats to the entire KKR organization. Just a whole bunch of classy people there.

Kudos to Daryn for winning the championship. Talked with him on several occassions when he was running locally in Pa...very fan freindly and a class act. Think he should take Brent Marks out for a steak dinner though. Without Marks spinning on last corner coming to the checkers, the points gap may have been a bit closer...would have made things interesting for sure as Pittman would have started the A main around 20th.

I agree, I thought Donna had gotten over all the whining, however I realize ending up second and not winning the championship would be demoralizing, he needs to get over it. He was beat and whining won't change that.
