What if anything do you do to support a sponsor of sprint car racing?  I will start with my common effort. If possible i will go to a Caseys General Store for gas etc. Why? Because they have always supported sprint car racing . Through knoxville raceway, the 47 of Gil Sonner and last but not least because Brian Brown is a great representative of the company . Watched him give away to kids everything he won at Jacksonville a few weeks back. Just thought it was really cool how he made those kids so happy.  Dont get me wrong this is not a commercial for Caseys or Brian Brown. Just wanted to give a good example to start the conversation.

I find myself going to Great Clips whenever possible, which is actually also convenient because there are thousands of Great Clips but I try to give them my business. I've always thought about telling 1 of the employees I come there mostly because of the businesses commitment to racing sponsorship but I never do because I know those gals could care less about racing or why I'm there. Where I live there aren't many Caseys but I do go to them whenever I can, also their pizza is great. I agree too that everything I've seen about BB, he is a class act all the way.

When Quaker State was big on Steve's car I insisted my mechanic use QS oil.

As far as sponsors go, I really don't go to that many come to think of it. I don't hunt or fish so Big Game/Bass Pro/Bad Boy buggies are out, my wife is a hair stylist so I don't go to Great clips, I've used STP and Armor all before they were sponsors in sprint car racing, and there are no Casey's General Stores in Ohio. I usually just try to support sprint car racing by spending money and going to the races.

I always try to buy the sponsors products even from my non favorite drivers. For example, I am not a Donnie fan but I will buy Armour All/STP products. When you buy those products, be sure to tell the employees the reason you are buying those items.

As far as Big Game, Quaker State and other large sponsors, I will call or send an e mail and tell them that I am buying thier products BECAUSE they sponsor Sammy, Steve, Donnie etc.

Sponsors need to hear feed back from us fans so the continue supporting open wheel racing.

I feel it's a small price for us fans to pay.

Complete sarcasm following!    Since Im a big Sammy fan i quit putting enough gas in my car to get all the way to work, just close enough to see it. Especially on those days ive got a REALLY important project . No reason packing around all that extra weight!

I feel like I support who I can that sponsors sprint car racing (especially on the local level with the local cars).

Casey's (not much else to choose from any more in rural IA, everyone else is concentrating on urban areas)

FVP - don't have too much I buy directly, but Raceway Tire in Knoxville uses their filters and such

Ollie's Bargain Barn -- I assume this is more of a East Coast chain, haven't ever seen one in the midwest

Bad Boy Buggies - If I was in the market for such a vehicle, they'd get my consideration first (but there are always other factors)

Big Game Treestands - I'm not a hunter, but from what I've seen when preusing the aisles @ Bass Pro Shops in Altoona, they look like the Cadillac of what is available

STP/Armor All - I used to buy Eagle One (although in reality, they are probably owned by the same holding company), but I switched back to STP/Armor All when they returned to sprint car racing (first stint was with Andy Hillenberg) even though Donnie is not my favorite (but he definetly has my respect.

Budweiser - still support them, even though they are no longer part of Joey Saldana or KKR

Old Milwaukee - wasn't ever old enough to support them when they sponsored Sammy, but I would have

Coors Light - ditto but with Steve and Brad Doty

Surepoint Medical - Hopefully I never have a NEED to use their products/services

Great Clips - don't have one locally, so I continue to support my local barbershop

Hopefully with the addition of MavTV for Knoxville Raceway, some of the local teams/drivers will pick up some regional support from companies as they will have more TV coverage than what the WoO does (and it will probably be officially announced at the Knoxville Raceway Banquet next Saturday).

I'd love to see companies like True Value, Target Stores, Lowes Home Improvement, Home Depot, Menards, Arnold Motor Supply, AutoZone, O'Reilly Auto Parts, HyVee, Fareway Food Stores, etc., etc. get involved in sprint car racing on the local level (which when you look at their overall advertising budget would be peanuts to be involved on a local team but get the National TV exposure).

Great Clips is probably my biggest one today.  There is one right down the street from me, and I let them know I come because of the sprint cars on the wall.

Armor All and STP are products I buy all the time anyways, but really appreciate their support.

Pretty much any product that sponsors a sprint car I'll always buy over the other stuff.

I wish Yuengling and Yaugermister (sp?) would get involved alcohol wise.  They are my liquid poison of choice.

Actually you kind of bring up a good point about other companies out there that we would like to support Sprint Car racing. You would think with the target market that some companies have and the demographics of Sprint car fans, companies like John Deere, Autozone, Grocery Stores, Hardware stores, Alcohol, Dollar General, Logistics Providers, etc that it would be a perfect match to advertise. I know that many fans already shop at certain stores but many of them have competitors and in certain industries its all about market share. We all have our brands like Coke, Budweiser, Nike, etc that we will never sway from, but others we base it on other factors. I would think it would be more of a direct/cheaper way to advertise to potential and current customers.

I always try and support the local businesses that sponsor cars, race nights or just racing in general. We get our race shirts from Dennisons because they give back very generously to the racers. Most of our groceries from Hy-Vee for sponsoring a race night and several signs who's money helps the point fund. I started using Quaker State when they sponsored Kinser and still do. Also knocking back a ton of Old Milwaukee just incase they want to sponsor Sammy again I'll be ready! Haha

Agreed,  I will try to purchase a product or service of any ccompany that supports open wheel racing.  But at the same time there are probably fans who boycott products because of their support of a certain driver.  If shatz wins the next 5 nationals ( which is probable) im still buying armor all. While im wearing my " Anybody but Schatz! !" tshirt .

I try to support just about every racing sponser out there when I need something, except NAPA.  I can't think about that business without thinking of Michael Waltrip and he wears my ass out.  I know they left him but I still can't forgive them.

I also make sure when going to or from races that I tell the resturants, bars, gas stations, or anywhere else I go that I was in there area because of the races, hoping that perhaps that local business might offer more support for the tracks
