John, i have a question. What is the rules on someone caught, illegal, what is the penalty. Let me say it was probably an honest mistake. Just wondering how they are penalized. Thanks

The Midwest All Stars are now allowed to run a 1" wickerbill on the top wing due to the fact that many drivers - or the non-wingers who have strapped a lid on - have older equipment with the wickerbill built into the wing. The no wickerbill rule was lifted last week. Now, Chad was said to have qualified with a 1" wickerbill but went out for the heat with a 3". He was DQ'd and scored last in the heat. Then he went on to win the B and then the A.

Swamp states the correct interpretation. Chad was given his qualifying time back because he had a wing for time trials that was within the rules. He got his qualifying time back for the B because of that. Then, he started 11th in the A...the highest a car can start if not qualified through the heats per regular All Stars rules.

Blonde ran a wing with a 3" wickerbill in his heat race. Midwest All-Stars recently ammended their wing rule to allow 1" wickerbills since so many of the drivers owned older wings that had them. The track was very dry and took rubber. Blonde was able to jump off the train at times to run higher to pass the cars ahead of him. He was also able to get through turns 3 and 4 without bouncing through the ruts there. Nice job of set-up and driving. Ron Standridge, who has driven very litttle this year, also looked good in Joe Reddick's car.
