Go to their fb page or visit atomicspeedway.net for info.
Last Saturday there were 40+ Sprints there for a $2000 show, before being rained out!

Eldora has a $5,000 to win All Star race on Saturday as well (not to mention 360s and nonwing too). Wonder why Atomic wouldnt have run this show last weekend or next weekend, when they wouldnt be up against any competing tracks? Doesnt make much sense to me. Kind of a shame for those of us fans (and drivers for that matter) that would've liked to hit both shows.

May be because not all Sprint Cars want to run the ALL STARS (obvious by their lack of very many stellar regulars), Or may be because not ALL fans want to make a trip to Eldora? Who knows? I would expect to see 25-30 Sprints and a nice size crowd at ATOMIC.
last week they ran a $2,000 Sprint show, had 41 cars before being rained out. Next week is the DTWC at portsmouth, which is MUCH closer and more affect on fan base. PLUS, the OVSCA had this scheduled as their points finale at another track and moved it to ATOMIC. There you have it.

They tried to run it last weekend but mother nature won. Next weekend they would be competing against a bigger event at Portsmouth and the Pumpkin show is close by as well. Most of the local drivers will probably race at Atomic because they don't have the motors for Eldora. If its an OVSCA sanctioned race like most of them have been then they still probably will get 25-30 sprints.

Kinda dumb to compete with Eldora in my opinion. Usually the Tracks in Ohio are pretty good at compromising on schedule, but apparently Atomic has other plans.

I guess you have it all figured out for us then huh? I love this forum - guy makes an innocent point on Atomic running against Eldora, and someone has immediately take a shot at him.
I live closer to Atomic than I do Eldora, but I'm still supporting Eldora on Saturday. Nobody wins when tracks go head-to-head against each other, certainly not the fans. Eldora has had their Sprintacular on their schedule all year. In understand Atomic just opened back up, but I hate to see tracks do this to one another.
And there you have it!

A majority of the cars that would be at KC/Atomic won't go to Eldora anyways. I'd be willing to put money on there being as many if not more cars at Atomic than Eldora. I expect ~35 cars at Atomic and ~35 cars at Eldora, I don't see a problem with 70+ winged sprint cars running in Ohio on the same night. I feel bad for the fans that would like to go to both, however there is another opportunity to see sprints at Atomic later this month.

That is what I'm thinking too but maybe not quite 35 but then again its 3000 to win. I actually think this will hurt Eldora's car count more than it will hurt Atomic's because Eldora is only 5000 to win but you factor in that Blaney, Shaffer, probably Haudenschild will be there so odd are they will win. I don't know how much second pays for the all stars but why risk hurting the engine at Eldora when you can go to Atomic, win 3k, and not damage as much equipment.

payout is pretty strong at Atomic also, believe based on other big OVSCA shows this year it is: $3,000, 1800, 1500, 1000, 800, 700, 600, 500, 400, 300 - 20th

Sometimes I think the 'Eldora hurts engines' idea gets blown out of proportion. Sure, it takes a good motor to win up there, but I dont see anymore blown motors there than I do at other tracks I go to.
From a purse standpoint, obviously there is a lot more money on the line at the All Star show. Compared to the payout posted above, All Star feature is:
1)5000, 2)2500, 3)1700, 4)1400, 5)1250, 6)1200, 7)1150, 8)1100, 9)1050, 10)1000, 11)800, 12)600, 13)520, 14)500, 15)500, 16)500, 17)500, 18)500, 19-24th)400. I couldnt find anything on non-transfer money for either series. Anyone know?
The biggest thing Eldora has going for it this weekend is the fact guys want seat time up there. There aren't many shows where they can go up and get some laps without the WoO guys there, but this is one they can and still have a chance at taking home some money.
To respond to Nicks comment above, I think it probably hurts both tracks equally from a car count standpoint. Run on separate nights, I think both tracks pick up another 10 cars, although Eldora would've picked up mostly B-Main type cars, while KC probably could've drawn down a few more 'household names'
Regardless, both shows will be fine this weekend in terms of crowd and cars. My original post was just merely an observation when looking at the weekend schedules.
edit, found the full All Star feature purse)

Agreed Clyde that the Eldora hurts the Engine excuse is probably used too much from a fan standpoint and that having both racing on the same night will hurt the car counts for both events. But on the bright side of it I think both will get a good car count from 410's combined and probably 60-70teams will be racing in Ohio on Saturday. Both places hold great shows and the fact that Atomic is back open is a great sign overall.

Atomic Speedway Presents OVSCA Sprint Spectacular October 12th OVSCA Points Final paying $3k to win Late Models $1500 to win Modifieds $750 to plus SportMods competing. Late Models and Modifieds OPEN TIRE RULE Pit Gate Opens 1pm General Admission Opens 3pm Hot Laps 5pm Breast Cancer Awareness Night rescheduled for Oct 26th Dan Reno Memorial November 2nd for Mods $2222 to win
We would love to & plan to do all we possibly can to work with other tracks to help all combined racers, fans as well as the tracks. But in certain situations such as this one it just did not work out.
There was alot to go into this as far as scheduling with the OVSCA, make up dates from the last two rain outs, the DTWC at Portsmouth. There is just several things that went into this decision & we knew it would not be popular with a few but it was not by no means meant to purposely run against any other "Big" show scheduled. Sometimes with Saturday night tracks it just cannot be helped that there are scheduling conflicts.

You dont hear the low budget Teams in Pa crying because they have to run at Williams Grove. I too agree that the Motor thing with Eldora is blown up.
