You really need to ask that question?
I have old newspaper articles that announce a 25,000+ crowd at some of the AAA races.
Lets say largest in the current history, but yes it was a huge crowd and a great win for Fritz.
What an exciting night to be a sprint car fan!

Haha, where would you put 25000 people at the Grove? That's 17,000 people not in seats. And that's with today's seating capacity.

I saw an aerial black and white photo from the early days where the entire infield was bursting with fans...cars parked bumper to bumper..even included shots of an old ambulance and a nurse in uniform...wish I had copied and saved the photo as I was shocked at the attendance.
Maybe it was the Past Racing section of the grove board - GoShow may be talking about that event - was it opening day of the speedway?

all the "current day" races that were brought up WERE huge crowds, as was saturday night. i have seen people parked in the farm fields on "one tree hill" before....a few times. and maybe saturday was the largest attendance ever...but its a cash business and you will never get exact numbers on any night....but i know for sure...i have NEVER seen so many people on the front straight after a race....or a race that most everyone was happy with the results.
