Who do y'all think are going to win?????
Pombo has been nearly unstoppable at SMS, but Sheridan is killer too, Peter Murphy???, Jimmy Thompson? Clark Templeman is a gamer, Kierce or Crawford, Espinosa? 3 fast times for Severson isn't he due? Porte has been a contender but Carlile can be lightning, Mike Knopf or Jeff Fiscus? Danny Faria can win any where... there are so many VRA wteams that can win I cannot name them all or another visiting team? With no USAC-CRA or any other near-by Sprint Car event who else might show? $2000 to win is nothing to sneeze at plus bragging rights.
The best of the best will be there....
I am going to make my own top picks, just based on my recollection of past SMS performance...but as a fan, all are my favorites...I dig it!
1. Davey Pombo 2. Peter Murphy 3. Danny Sheridan 4. Josh Ford 5. Jimmy Thompson 6. Albert Pombo
Who are your picks???

Eilandgirl72.......I have to agree with you about Davey!!!!! Hope he had a good time in Indy. I followed nightly on racelinechat.com. Nice to see Albert is doing well, maybe a 1& 2 finish like you say.
Pete......Peter Murphy will not be there, he has signed on to run the #9 car with Elite Racing, he and Ronnie Day will be team mates. He will be at Chico for the big 2 day finale with the Golden State Challenge Series. Will be nice to have Peter on the track with all of us.

Those are all good pic's but dont count out rookies Myles Bishop and John Niggly. Myles and his crew in one vist the have a quick time and was .200 of a second quicker than anyone else. And Niggly has been the twice and recorded two top five finishes. It will be an exciting race!!!!!!!!

Hey Pete just curious what happened to Jesse Mack? Your own top driver winning over there every week and he is not even in your top picks. Then again they do check more with VRA.
I agree Davey will be great, but don't forget the rookies so are they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Urdirtbabe, good call. Glad to see someone else taking notice of the obvious favouritism at SMS.
As for Mr Curto, don't you feel that being an employee of SMS. this is a conflict of interest? I totally understand being a race fan (so don't even play that card) but this is unprofessional , and you should not put your self in this position. this defiantly sends the wrong message to competitors that would like compete at this race track, You don't see Cliff Morgan making this kind of a mistake , maybe you should take notice this weekend on how to properly conduct your self in a more professional manor.

last time that Team was there Brandon got 2nd in his heat and started 15th in the main and was the hard charger comming home in 5th, and Dwayne came home in 6th
i think the Santa Maria locals are gonna be in for a suprise this weekend

I know, there are some tough choices and I picked with some sentiment and know for a fact that I might get one or two out of the top 6 right...
Thats great for Peter M, see, already got one wrong...errr, lets put Jessie in there...actually, for everyone its fuel for the fire...as if they need motivation.
Dang, when I wrote that I plum forgot about Greg Taylor who is always a favorite contendah. One guy to keep an eye on is Clark TemplemanIII...he has had some bad luck and been close to winning at about every Grand Slam event.
Brandon Thomson and Dwayne Marcum were super fast their tune up at SMS and Myles Bishop and John Niggli were impressive rookies.
I love all of these guys because they all are putting it on the line and there is no room to error. Tjhere are so many people that are capable of winning that there are more than a dozen teams that would not surprise me to see them in victory lane. Wow, it is gonna be a great race and my family and friends are all looking forward to it just as I am. I cannot wait to see how it unfolds. Even people here that are casual fans are hyped about this race.
Please say hello when you are here...
