Greg, Thanks for posting. As the current WoO team members traverse the endless Highways of the USA & Canada in their quarter million dollar rigs and the drivers fly in planes (private or commercial) & relax in luxurious motor coaches hopefully they occasionally reflect on the "riverboat gambler" who gave birth to the WoO and raised it to the multi-million dollar operation it now is. Like him or despise him (which could change monthly, weekly or somtimes daily) Ted was quite possibly the only person who could do what he did--create, operate and sustain his traveling band of gyspies. He didn't always hit 100% but in a world where .300 baseball hitters are multi-millionaires Ted worked his a** off to establish a proud, exciting brand of auto racing that is still drawing standing room crowds throughout the USA. Not bad for a former fan in the crowd at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI. Next time you're in Knoxville, Iowa stop at the NSCHoF&M and check out the plaque of HoF'er--Ted Johnson.
