You can now get a 353 from Shelby making 1200 HP on pump gas.  While Johnny continues ranting about an over rated 900, its time to consider other options.  Haud would be back in the hunt if it made 1200.  If they keep adding weight and want to keep things interesting, we cannot ignore obvious modern improvements.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Do you have the Dyno #s for this engine when they pull the supercharger off of it? Cause your not really comparing apples to apples when your stating the #s of a supercharged engine as opposed to the #s of the sprint car motors that are all engine. You want to talk about exaggerating #s, I believe that the auto industry has been at the forefront of exaggerating power #s for years. Even the little I read about this motor already 1 place stated they already admit its 1200 HP to the flywheel and around 1000 HP actually to the wheels. If you want to put out #s of motors that make more power than sprint car motors you could simply tell us about a NHRA Top Fuel motor thats making 8000 HP, are they out there? Certainly. Do they relate at all to a sprint car motor? Not at all, but they do have alot more power. Now is it impressive that Shelby is customizing some Mustangs with this package that includes a 1200 HP engine, yes it is, and for $155,000 to have it done to the car you've already purchased, it should be impressive. Does it relate to sprint car racing at all? No, because its not an engine you would ever put in a sprint car.

I don't know what that motor goes for alone, but with a price tag of $150,000+ for the car, I'm betting it ain't cost effective. And hasn't everyone been pissing and moaning for 5 years about how these cars need to be slowed down, unhooked, playing field leveled, et cetera?
