(warning--this message is intended solely for those sick of hearing about Kyle Larson.  Many are disgusted hearing about his many successes, victories and his poisoning at the hands of Nascar.  This short post should give you that relief)

Cody Darrah puts out another highlight reel full of action!  First at Skagit, he climbs from his 8th starting spot to 4th!  Followed by Elma, WA where he charges from his 10th starting spot to a 22nd place finish!!  Finally, at Cottage Grove last night he blisters the field from 2nd place all the way up to 7th!!

Thankfully, this kid is staying put and not taking the bait to go to Nascar!  Even after posting 2 wins, 12 top 5s and 25 top 10's out of 63 races, he has resisted the calling of many top Nascar teams to sell his soul to the corporate machine!  Why would he go now though?  He has closed in to within 574 points of 3rd place in the standings and within only 254 pts. of a 58 year old man in the twilight of his career!

Here is hoping we will have years and years of enjoyment watching him finish in the top 10 about 39% of the time even though only about 5 or 6 of the teams he goes up against have near the funding.

Go get 'em!!

(anyone still not want to talk about Larson?  this is the kind of story you are going to get if you are sick of hearing about the actual story.  There are really only a couple of stories going on right now in the winges sprint car world (Pittman/Schatz, Kaeding, and Larson)--and I feel there is a fair percentage of each of those stories posted on this forum.  So if you are sick of hearing about the real stories, go to a basket weaving forum)

I am sure you'll get criticized, but that was a great post.

Egras,

While Cody has torn up his fair share of equipment, who above him in points, should be behind him?  If I was the owner I would want to see progress and maybe that is why people are upset with Cody getting that ride. He's looking to finish how he finished in 2012....7th.

Unless there are some major changes in the WOO I expect him to finish about that same next year as well, possibly closer to 9th or 10th.

( I did laught at post though )

You could be an actual PR agent because you used a lot of space and stuff to just end up saying Darrah is the Danica of the WoO.
I can narrow it down to one word.....Darrica.

I recall Wayne Harper on an almost weekly basis talking about "we'll be watching Cody race on Sundays".  wink

If anyone thinks the reason behind the post was for the purpose of bashing Cody--you missed the entire story and i am not suprised it went over your head.

Point of the post--getting tired of talking about Kyle Larson on a spint car racing forum is like waking up on November 23rd, 1963 and saying your getting tired of hearing about Kennedy on the news.

I only picked Cody because I needed a team having a mediocre season to explain why there really isn't a whole lot more to talk about than what is already being talked about.

1.  Pittman/Schatz battle--check

2.  Kaeding giving the outlaws fits everytime he races them--check

3.  Tony breaking his leg--check

4.  Kyle Larson--check

Ask a Nascar fan who they think about when they hear Nascar mentioned.  Jimmie, Danica, Jeff, Dale Jr.

Ask a sprint car fan who they think of when you mention Nascar--they will say Tony and soon they will say Kyle.  So of course it is going to be the topic of conversation.

point of the post wasn't to piss off the Darrah fans (all 12 of you) HAHAHA--couldn't help myself.

ps--I can't help my tiny dick

BINGO!!!  Brilliant is the word I would definitely use!  My wife always calls me einstein, so I must be smarter than I thought!

Now BIGFISH, I don't always agree with what you say, but I do respect your opinion--you usually present a good arguement.   That being said, you do realize there are a lot of folks on this forum that don't understand irony or sarcasm and even more that can't take a joke, don't you?  I feel the need to clarify sometimes.

Also BIGFISH, I'm not schizophrenic.  However, I do have two very different, erradic and explosive personalities.

Hope I cleared that up.

You know me well enough to know I'm not much into bashing  driver's but when one of you guy's give me the opportunity to lay it back on you, well you left the door wide open. Say what you will, but I still think you chose Cody for your little exercise because of your personal feeling towards him and not just for our entertainment

Are you sure your wife's not calling you Frankenstein instead of Einstein.?Thinking smiley emoticon

The internet is such a marvelous invention...one no longer need to confine their intelligence or lack thereof to just close personal friends and neighbors.

Say saoranrat, I've been meaning to ask you, where do you live?.. You might be interested to know, or not, I received my name bigfish down where the Sonoran desert meets the Sea of Cortez and I still drive down fairly often.

If this is a true statement there doesn't seem to be much of a future for the WoO.

Nah, I didn't choose to bash Cody because of personal feelings towards him.  I remember watching the Williams Grove National Open a few years back when he looked about 15 years old.  I believe he was the defending champion of the race.  ??  He was doing an interview and was hoping to get the ride that would get him on the road with the WOO.  Not long after that he got that ride and I was actually rooting for him.  Then a couple of years passed and for me the experiment was over.

When I decided I was going to do the post I was going to pick a driver having a mediocre season to make a point.  I thought about Sides or Kemenah, but I couldn't do it using those two because they race on limited budgets and have to compete with big money each night.  Then, I thought about Joey, but he is actually one spot ahead of Darrah in the standings--no wins, but 1 spot ahead in the points.  Then i thought, Joey had 20 wins two years ago with the same equipment Cody has, so I can't use Joey for my presentation.  There it is--sorry if I offended anyone--but I cannot imagine even one scenario where he ends up being even a threat to win the title in the next 10 years.  Actually, maybe there is one exception--if his learning curve in the WOO is similar to that of Logano's in Sprint Cup.  That is a rarity though.  Usually a guy will show you something that makes you think it is going to happen for him.

I doubt egras knows any amount of any budget numbers that the outlaws teams have. Darrah is doing just as good if not better then most in the time frame including Shatz The problem is he is in a KKR car and all believe that the money is spent as needed but anyone close to that team or anyone of the KKR teams, they ALL have budgets Darrah's dad probably spent more on the team at home then they do right now.
