Badly (and I do mean that) injured back in the '90s former IndyCar chauffer Davey Hamilton was the leader at the halfway point a few minutes ago in the annual big block supermodified Budweiser Classic at New York state's Oswego Speedway.

Davey's rear aero plate (these cars don't really have wings) got loose toward the end and then flew off. He wound up in the soft crash wall, and walked away after running very well all afternoon. Bobby Bond won the 200 lapper running in the high :15s on that 5/8 mile track most of the way; point leader Otto Sitterly was second; Canadian Sean Gosselin's first time in a wingless super got him to the podium, as well. Thanks to Perris regular and 40-year Osewgo racing director Dick O'Brien for the reports.

Gosselin and Cumens both keep putting up some decent finishes. Really thought Davey had a chance after winning back in the spring. The Litts returning to supers for the weekend and running decent was kinda cool.
Geez, I had fun.
