I was just wondering what kind of car count to expect for the USAC race at 34 Raceway this Friday? Any Knoxville regulars expected to take the wing off and come down and run?

Should be over 30. Close enough to Indiana even though this state is short of non-wing "race-fans". Should be a great show and worth the trip. We're coming in from Knoxville.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

My guess is 20-22 cars. Great scheduling by USAC they run Terre Haute the next day so any regular IN guys are not going to tow to Iowa for one show. Here is the payout from USAC website. Any local 360 or 305 guys might want to show up to collect some start money but they do have to buy the USAC RR or find a used one from a team.
PRIZE MONEY DISTRIBUTION
All cars not transferring to the Feature receive $100.00 each
-FEATURE-
1. $5,000 4. $1,000 7. $800 10. $725 13. $650 16. $575 19. $500 22. $500
2. $2,500 5. $900 8. $775 11. $700 14. $625 17. $550 20. $500
3. $1,250 6. $850 9. $750 12. $675 15. $600 18. $525 21. $500
Feature—$21,450.00 Point Fund—$1,000.00
GRAND TOTAL—$22,450.00
*Non Member Car Owners deductions (-$100.00 for all Feature positions).

USAC, Usually pays 5k so maybe some local guys wil take their lids off. Just wish it was on sat night, got a high school football game I got to coach. Nothin better than a good non wing show.

We shall see. Terre Haute is only 4 1/2 hours from Burlington. Not a bad tow for them. It is also a National Sprint Series points show. I will stick with over 30 cars. Might have to bet a drink on that and collect tomorrow night. lol. At least they didn't put it up against the Nebraska game on Saturday. Thank you USAC!

Dirt in ur beer, our 305 will be there running but I got to coach. One of these days football or racing has to go, well I was racing before I was a Head FB Coach. LOL They are paying 750 for 305's to win and 125 to start, think we will leave are wing on. Should be a good show.

Osky paid what? 30 grand to win and they drew maybe 20 cars at the front row challenge!! I've heard that it's the costs assosiated to run a USAC show that keeps drivers away! Could be BS but thats what I heard. Remember how many non wingers were at Osky before it went to USAC? 30-40 cars.

Looking forward to seeing this show. Non-wing cars are where it is at. At least for me that is. Should be a good time. If I remember correctly there were 25 or so cars there the last time that Usac raced at 34.

22 Actually they announced at the driver's meeting. Bacon broke the axle and threw a tire while leading and Darland won, Windom second and Clausen third. Great track and great racing. The 305's put on a very good show. The size of the crowd was pathetic. Call it heat or whatever but that might be it for USAC there.
