The Highbanks ‘Salute To Veterans Night’
OCRS Sprints and USMTS Mods Featured

Tulsa Oklahoma (August 19, 2013) – This Saturday night, those highly unpredictable sprint cars of the Oil Capital Racing Series will once again take to the mega fast Salina Highbanks Speedway in a night where the track will be saluting the service veterans that have served our country with pride and honor.

Located just west of Hudson Lake on Highway 20, the ‘Highbanks’ will be hosting the OCRS sprint cars along with the USMTS modified series for the second year in a row. This is a must see show for the avid racing enthusiast. The staff of the Highbanks have arranged a parachuter to fly into the racetrack pre-race time and there will also be a fly over by Paul Mackey and the Warbirds. It’s going to be an awesome way to start an action packed night.

Saturday will be the third and final appearance in 2013 for the OCRS sprinters at the Highbanks and race fans could see a third 2013 Highbanks winner. Harli White, the OCRS points leader coming into the event, took the win at the Highbanks back in May while Casey Wills grabbed his first career OCRS victory last month. In all, there have been ten different winners thus season, surpassing the nine pilots that collected blue ribbons in 2009. White leads the series in wins with six having last won just last weekend at Southern Oklahoma Speedway.

“Last years event with the two classes (OCRS and USMTS) were talked about for days after,” commented OCRS president Barry Grable. “We have already been hearing the buzz about this weekend for a spell now and with the below normal temps we have experienced lately, I suspect the attendance for the night will be even better than last year.”

Fans can choose to view the racing from the general grandstand bleachers, the upper deck beer garden, the full service “Finish Line Bar & Grill” or from one of the special VIP suites. The Highbanks has it all! (Contact the racetrack for VIP suite availability prior to arriving).

Casey Wills will look to go 2 for 2 at the Highbanks
