Whats the rule on lapped traffic? During the Friday night feature a lapped car was causing undo problems and wasn't getting out of the way.

I couldn't tell if the flagman had the move over flag out. Can't they black flag lapped cars that won't get out of the way?

Is there a black flag rule that relates to not adhering to the Blue and yellow pull over flag?

That lapped car could have easily messed up any of the top four.

Again the Blue and Yellow flag does not mean "MOVE OVER" it means hold your line the fast guys are comming behind you. Moving over in front of the fast guys is a good way to get ran the hell over.

Regardless of what the flag is called the lapped traffic looked to be trying to race and causing problems.

There was no line being held.

If I remember correctly the WOO does not use a lap flag during racing events. Some squirrels just Don't realize they are a moving road block !!!

not sure how i feel about the "move over" flag.  all are there to win the money which doesn't include "pulling over"!

just sayin...

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

If the leader can pass the fast cars to get the lead he should be able to pass a lapped car without the flagmans help. Doug Clark has not used the layover flag for years. Everyone on the track is racing so let them race.

Actually, I DID comment about Sammy racing the leader at Kings Royal, and will continue to do so whenever a lapped car races with the leaders.  My opinion once a driver sees they're about to be passed by the leader he should let the race be settled by the drivers racing up front.  Not saying the slower car should just "move over", but I also don't think it's right fro a lapped car to throw a slider back at the leader.  (The vast majority of drivers I've talked to agree with my position, byt the way.)

I agree 100% with Johnny. It doesnt seem right when someone is about to win 10 times the money or more than another competitor, to be taken out by a competitor with little or no chance to win. I thought maybe there was an official rule dealing with it. It seems when this condition happens and the leaders do get around the lapped car, the lapped car doesn't remain competitive with the leaders.

I keep my John Gibson-isms on the top shelf where dad keeps the Playboys

The RULE is race your way through it! They do not black flag drivers for racing!

Staying on the lead lap is one of the most important things that you can do. Let's say that you are running in tenth place and the leader is the only car to lap you, completes the lap and a yellow comes out. After the restart, you find a place on the track where you are fast and you pass all nine cars that are in front of you. Guess what, you're still in tenth place. When the leader passed you and the yellow came out, all of the other cars on the lead lap got credit for passing you also. Now the best you can hope for is that some of the cars ahead of you drop out or you will not finish any higher than 10th.

Look at the Kings Royal that Sides had won a few years ago when most of the field had flat tires. If he had been lapped in that race, he would never have had the chance to win it. The cars that created the yellow would have replaced their tires and still have been ahead of him on the track.

I can see where a good racer gets "their elbows up" more when they are about to be lapped, as they realize their night is going to be bad and can not get any better. Once lapped and the leader pulls away, they might as well yield to the other lead lap cars as they are not racing them for position. But a good racer will try extremely hard to stay on the lead lap.
