TwisterWest and Jimmy Crawford would like to thank Steve Gresham and Steve Gresham Racing Engines for letting me shake-down / debut his Brand New House Car, "The Jim Gresham Special" number 51. We went through the typical shake-down woes with brakes and misc. nuts and bolts, but I guess that is expected on a new car we put together this week.

We started 4th in our heat and finished 3rd. (no brakes) Direct transfer to the main starting 11th. Some NOT new car woes was when I decided to pull the steering wheel off exiting turn two of lap one. I kept it pointed in the right direction down the back straight with what probably looked like a series of bad s-turns and got the wheel back on at the apex of 3 and 4. (its not easy driving the steering shaft) Now back in about 17th I needed to get back those positions I lost. Somewhere between laps 10 and 15 we were hit had in the right rear and broke the ladder clean off the heim. With no ladder and the steering wheel pointed at two o'clock we charged the top, middle and bottom to a respectable 7th place finish. (no one said us drivers were smart!!!)

So, thanks again to Steve Gresham. This car will soon be in the winners circle. And a quick shout out to Richard Terry for his help in the pits.

PS: The SGRE Racing Engine under the hood is BAD and sounds a lot like Tony D's new SGRE!!!

Jimmy "neutron" Crawford - #51

Congratulations Eric!

Happy to see you make to the winners circle. It was pedal to the metal all the way.
