Been around watching sprint cars since the late 70's.  I know they are dangerous, VERY DANGEROUS, many friends serously hurt and few even killed  frown

But what are reasonable things that can be done at the track and on the car to help reduce or prevent injuries.  Or do we just accept the danger of the sport and move on.  This is not a statement in anyway, just asking what can be done for safety.

I think I even said immediately after Jason Lefflers crash, it was not the time to ask questions.  But I now think it is time to ask the hard questions about sprint car safety.  I love this sport, the thrills and even spills at times.  BUT I HATE WHEN ANYONE GETS INJURED and I feel sick too my stomach when some dies  doing what they love to do  frown.

Can drive lines be better protected.

On Now wing cars, can there be better head protection on the top on the frame.

Ways to protect drivers from things entering the cockpit.

What you guys think can be done to improve saftey

Carbon fiber cockpits? ($$$!) hans devices? & yes, agreed about the vertical strength of the cage. That was made obvious in the crash test video from a few years ago.
