I sat near quite possibly the WORST Racefan EVER (maybe the worst human being ever) last Saturday Night @ Knoxville.
Never heard anyone have so much hate toward a driver (or drivers) - talked up about how he wished Sawyer Phillips would put Larry Ball into HyVee's Parking Lot. Then it was Larry's fault when 6 cars flipped at teh beginning of the 305 main (even though he wasn't even involved in teh incident). Proceeded to bash Larry after he won yelling he couldn't cut it in 410's so he went to 360's and couldn't cut it so he's picking on the 305 teams (I don't agree personally, Larry has raced for FUN the last few years).
I thought his drivel was just aimed toward Larry Ball until the 360's rolled out and for whatever reason he proceeded to hate everyone that wasn't named Clint Garner - even remarked to his wife when Garner got the win that it was great that he beat that "high dollar" team of Joe Beaver (no idea what world this guy lives in). It was the Greatest race ever in his mind since Clint won, but he was bit#hing the lap prior because Joe started up front.
410's rolled out and I think he hated EVERYONE and then bit#ed loud because Bronson Maeschen won (said he has too much $$ behind him).
For the first time in my adult life I had considered turning around and punching the guy between the eyes when he was "cheering" for a driver to get wrecked and hurt (Larry Ball, Jr.).
I'm not saying I'm perfect, I cheer whenever McCarl, Lasoski or Schatz lose a tire or experience car troubles (and did when Kinser was winning everything in the 80's when I was a kid), but I have NEVER cheered when even a driver I dislike wrecks or wish a wreck on anyone (even a minor wreck can take away someone's husband, father, uncle, friend, etc.).
What do you do when some IDIOT is sitting near you acting this way?

I think the only thing this guy forgot to do was puke on your wife and daughter. JK'ing
I hate it when you get next to a sourpuss like that at any sporting event. There always seems to be that one guy close to me at a WoO race that hates 1 racer, of which I don't really care if someone doesn't like somebody, but its always the noisy drunk guy that can't stop from swearing all about his hatred for the guy the whole time. The swearing doesn't matter to me but when I look and see peoples kids or wives with it makes me embarrassed for them.
I went to a Twins game earlier in the year and I have a 4 year old and she was excited and kind of up and down, but the old lady and her husband front of us, my wife caught the wife a couple of times turning around and giving a dirty look to my 4 year old, she's 4, the dirty look meant nothing to her so my wife finally nicely said to the lady, if our daughter is kicking or bumping your seat just let us know and we'll deal with it and sorry but she is only 4. The best part was this lady sat through the entire game and I don't think she looked at the field once, she sat there and read on her Kindle the whole time and at 1 point I look at them and she is pulling zip lock bags of cheetos and sunflower seeds out of her purse that her and her husband are eating. I know kids can be annoying but it was both my kids first Twins game and then she just made us on edge the whole time about the kids.

Start cheering out loud for the people that he is bashing and bash the people he is cheering for. Usually they shut up real quick when this happens.

Frustruating for sure. I typically sit in the same spot but have moved because of these reasons...not shortage of open seats.
This time it was against the McCarls and was especially bad when Carson, Austin and Terry were all running.

Section H - near the poles
It was almost comical if he hadn;t been so vindictive wanting certain cars and drivers to get put out of the ballpark and hurt (no excuse for that no matter how much you dislike someone).

I would move up behind him about 5 rows and proceed to hack loogies on the back of his dumbass head.

Until you've been threatened to be thrown off the back of the bleachers for wanting to sit in the reserved seats that you've paid for, you haven't met the worst race fan EVER...
Opinions may vary...

You're the bigger man for keeping your mouth shut and letting someone else make the ass out of themselves. I would only turn around and punch someone if my family got thrown-up on like happened last year.

Sounds like that local we ran into a few years ago at the nationals and kept dropping the F bomb around the moms and kids. I finally told him I had enough of his shit and to shut up. Been the nicest dude to sit by since.
