Brian Brown – Big Money Week in June!

(Bill W) June 24, 2013 – With the Folken Brothers Jackson Spring Nationals in Minnesota on Wednesday, and three nights with the World of Outlaws this weekend, a lot of cash is on the line. Brian Brown and the Casey's General Stores/FVP #21 team will be in the middle of it all. Though last weekend's event supported by Impact4800.com at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri didn't quite go as planned, the Grain Valley, Missouri driver will be ready.

I know you were excited to get down to Wheatland on Saturday.

We're always excited to get to Lucas Oil Speedway. It's close to Champion Brands, Ditzfeld Transfer, Weld Wheels and obviously, Impact4800.com was sponsoring the night. We had a really good draw (2nd), and it was a good race with Kyle Bellm in the heat. It was kind of a slide fest. He got the best of us there and we ended up second.

You started twelfth in the feature, but it didn't look like it went so well.

We had a pretty good start and got going there. I was able to get into the top ten. About the tenth lap or so, I got into the wall and bent the front axle. I tore some things up on the car, and it made it tough to drive. We ended up twelfth.

Some nights are like that.

It's definitely not the way we wanted to finish down there. But when you race a hundred nights, you're going to have some like that. You have to shake them off and go to the next race.

The Jackson Spring Nationals are coming up Wednesday night, paying $5,000 to the winner.

This is a big race at Jackson. We were able to win it last year, and of course, we always have some great fans waiting for us there. It's going to be fun. I'm looking forward to going back up there. Fans should really get up there, because it's a great race, but if they can't, I know it's being shot LIVE on TheCushion.com pay per view. They do a great job.

How about the rest of your weekend?

We're looking at some races with the Outlaws. We may do LaSalle (Speedway in Illinois) on Friday, and we'll be at Beaver Dam (Wisconsin) on Saturday and Cedar Lake Speedway (near New Richmond, Wisconsin) on Sunday.

You've performed well lately at a couple of those tracks.

We've had some success with the Outlaws at Beaver Dam, and we're doing an appearance there at 11:00 a.m. At Cedar Lake, we led 26 or 28 laps last year before I got into the fence. It will be good to get back with the Outlaws. It's time to get after them again.
