Brad Sweet and Kyle Larson, 1 - 2 at Waynesfield OH last night in All Star SprintWeek. Two alum from the awesome Red Bluff CA kart series. Glad I got to see them race at Red Bluff in the nineties (Robert Ballou as well, now racing Indiana nonwing). Great racing - I miss it. Congrats Brad and Kyle.

I saw Brad run at Cycleland each September when I was out there for the Gold Cup, he was a legend there. Did Kyle Larson run back there then also? I know they ran some specials out there on nights that the Outlaws came to town, some mid-week stuff. Heck, one year I even got Sammy to pose with the winners in Victory Lane, who says he's such a meanie, lol.....

Generally it only happened if I cracked a joke or made fun of something which I must admit I am pretty good at, Sammy can take a ribbing pretty good, especially when he isn't smiling and you're trying to get him to do so. Heck, I had dozens of his wins over the years in Victory Lane and joked about that to get him smile with the kids, worked some of the time if I can remember. There's a big difference between him and McCarl in victory lane, that's for sure.....

My experience with Cycleland was driving past it on the way from Yuba City to Chico on Friday nights! I did see the keading boys race mini sprint there once though. My Saturdays were spent chasing NARC and the early years of the Civil War. Red Bluff was my winter hangout and Kyle and Brad were running the 125cc winged karts at the time. I know there were others who graduated from otlaw karts to sprints with success like Roger Crockett.
