Yeah, it was announced right at the start that Faria was running a 360, but I have to wonder. He has a 410 motor and ran it last night at Watsonville. He looked too strong coming out of the corners (to me, anyway) along with both Ryan and Demon for many laps to have been running a 360. I'd like some verification. He was never more than a few car lengths behind Damion until late in the race and had no problem holding off Rich, Nick, et al.

What size track is santa maria. Cardey ran 360 and held off demons 410 at occ few weeks ago. At some tracks 360 are equal. 1/4 mile there no room for 410 power to build a distance.

SM is 1/3 mile with moderate banking on which Danny was running low most of the time with Ryan going high to try to get around him in the first six or eight laps. Ryan did get around him once, but Danny got back past him on the same lap. Damion went low on a slide job to get by Faria, but did not run away from the 17v at all. A 410 is typically 150 to 200 lbs. lighter than a 360, btw.

=Something= went in the drive train. He was =flying= around SM tonight, however. Are they tweaking that engine to hand grenade status to keep up with the "silver arrows?" I dunno.

He blew motor in qualifing at pas last race. Staryed last last amd anoither 3 laps he might of won. Im not sure what they doing. He outdrove demon on dry and loose dirt track on first occ race. Thats still 4 motor issues now. It sucks because him and demon put a show on battling.

Sorry guy's, but Cardey was running his 410 at OSS. So as of now Mike Martins 360 has been the only one that's put it to the 410's so far...http://tjslideways.com/2012/10/30/mike-martin-makes-history-in-canyons-hall-of-fame-classic/

Greg Alexander was in the highest finishing 360 at OSS and I think he finished 6th.

I know for a fact clasian had 410 in martins car in his az and pas win earlier this year. Still a great feat considering martin cant place his car near front anywhere.

Not talking about the pas, read the article. He was in a 360 for the Hall of Fame race!

" Yuma, Arizona’s Mike Martin made USAC history last Saturday night by winning the “ParkerStore Hall of Fame Classic” with a 360-cubic inch powered machine. Leading all 30-laps, the “Magic Man” claimed the $5,000 victory at Canyon Speedway Park in front of a large crowd. “The Madman” Robert Ballou, “The Demon” Damion Gardner, Hunter Schuerenberg, and Jon Stanbrough rounded out the top five drivers.

Actually three of the wins that Clauson had at Canyon last year in Mike's 2nd car was at the Winter Challenge, a 360 deal.

Cardey's fast anywhere, and I'm sure he'll be at OSS on the 29th.

Cardey has almost never (ever?) towed the Moose over the mountains that I know of. You've really got to have sturdy gear to do the Grapevine, Gaviota or Cuesta grades and not wind up in the shop.

It was an allusion to the Mercedes and Audi "panzerwagons" Hitler was laying money on back in the '30s. No one could get past =them= very often, either. But I =do= get the "point."

Yes it is a 360, matter of fact it a Tom Reitz 360. It is an older motor that Tom put together years ago and we do not run it very often. The heads on that motor are over 25 years old and were first ran on the Dannell Dehart 5 car in 85, It has always been a great motor, we hurt the 410 the night before at Watsonville so instead of going home we decided to give it a shot.

Holy Moly. That thing came out of 2 and 4 like a jackrabbit with its a** on fire. The 4a was the only car out there that had anything for it. Thanks for clearing this up. BTW... would that motor be legal in WC 360 nowadays?
