Here in upper midwest, is it ok to store empty sprint car diecast boxes (1/18) in 3 mil thick bags in my garage attic, garage is attached to house on two sides but gets cold in winter and hot in summer. These take so so much room in our house, wife not to happy with how large an area these boxes take. Hate to think I can't use my attic. Help.

Good intentions, but that answer not what I was looking for. Someone must know if cardboard boxes will be ok in cold/hot attic without turning into crap cardboard.

I live in the Dallas area and I have stored my collection in the attic for at least 15 years. Can't imagine a place much hotter than my attic in July and August. They are in their original package and are just fine.

I've never saved any of my diecast packages but can't imagine how hot it would get in a Dallas attic and the cardboard staying strong like it was when bought. Maybe the cardboard is treated with something just due to the fact that most people do save the boxes.
