USAC/CRA 410S INVADE OCEAN SPEEDWAY ON FRIDAY

WATSONVILLE, CALIFORNIA (June 13, 2013) - The USAC/CRA 410 traditional sprint cars will hit John Prentice's Ocean Speedway Watsonville for their first of two appearances, going head-to-head with the USAC Western Classic Sprints in a co-sanctioned contest. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, and Four Bangers will join the USAC competition on a busy night for Father's Day weekend.

Five-time consecutive USAC/CRA champion Mike Spencer finds himself third in series points, trailing Concord's "The Demon" Damion Gardner and Huntington Beach's Nic Faas in the standings. The duo has combined for four wins driving nearly identically prepared entries for Mark Alexander.

Last Friday night's Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo feature winner Bud Kaeding, the 2012 USAC West Coast 360 champion, is fourth in the standings ahead of Yorba Linda's Matt Mitchell.

Other regular contenders include brothers Austin and Cody Williams, young gun Brody Roa, and "Dynamite" David Cardey.

On the USAC Western Classic side, two-time Ocean track champion Ryan Bernal of Hollister leads the standings after winning both races this year. Bernal won the season opener at Ocean in April and followed that up with a win at Placerville in May. Stockton's DJ Johnson, 11-time USAC champion Tony Hunt, Spec Sprint standout Colton Slack, and Galt's Matt Streeter round out the top-five in the standings.

A huge field is anticipated with Roseville's Scott Hall, Pleasanton's Nathan Washam, Fair Oaks' Shauna Hogg, and 2012 Ocean Sprints champion Shane Golobic of Fremont all expected to compete.

Adult tickets are just $20 with seniors 65+ $19 and kids ages 6-12 are $15. The family pass for two adults and two children is value priced at just $55. Qualifying will get underway at 6 p.m. with fan gates opening at 4:30 p.m.

I hope we get to see BK without the wings again on this Flag Day Friday. Golobic in the 121 and Bernal will try to win on their home track. See you there tonight.
