ROUND SEVEN OF OCEAN SPRINTS SET FOR FRIDAY

WATSONVILLE, CALIFORNIA (May 30, 2013) - After a one week break, the Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo will hit John Prentice's Ocean Speedway Watsonville on Friday night for round seven of their hotly contested 2013 campaign. Through seven events, points leader Brad Furr of Stockton is the only repeat feature winner in the series.

The 2013 season has also produced wins for "Mr. Excitement" Andy Forsberg of Auburn, Watsonville's Justin Sanders, Brandon "Bud" Kaeding, and most recently 2012 Ocean Sprints champion Shane Golobic of Fremont.

Kaeding accepted the "Nobel Construction Back Row Challenge" at the last Taco Bravo race, starting from the rear in search of a $1500 bonus. Kaeding drove through the pack up into second place, and within striking distance of Golobic, before colliding with an infield tire to finish third. Friday's Ray Scheidt's Electric Fast Time qualifier will be offered the same opportunity to take Earl Stanton's money.

Gilroy's Kurt Nelson is second in the standings in the Taco Bravo #72w after a fifth place finish in the last event. Salinas' Jeremy Chisum has topped the Chisum brothers this year to rank fourth ahead of San Jose's Ryan Rusconi and San Francisco's Nick Rescino, Jr.

The balance of the top-ten in the championship hunt sees Watsonville's Justin Sanders leading Jason Chisum, leading rookie Nick Foster, Jr. of San Jose, Fresno's Koen Shaw, and rookie candidate Nathan Washam of Pleasanton.

Despite limited appearances, Golobic has leapt into 11th in the overall tally. Other drivers expected on Friday night include "The Terminator" Tommy Tarlton and his nephew Carson Macedo, who has been a perennial hard-charger in his young career.

Ocean Sprints regular Koen Shaw will be on hand to sign autographs on Friday night when the fan gates swing open at 4:30 p.m.

Friday's races for the Ocean Sprints also includes American Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, and Wingless Sprints. Adult tickets are just $17 with seniors 65+ $16 and kids ages 6-12 are $15. The family pass for two adults and two children is value priced at just $55. Qualifying will get underway at 6 p.m.
