David Hesmer – Building Momentum!
(Bill W) May 21, 2013 – Driver David Hesmer and the BDS Motorsports #1 team are building momentum after last Saturday night at Knoxville. After registering the 12th quick time of the night amongst the 30-car field, the Marshalltown, Iowa driver locked himself into their first feature of the season. They will be back this Saturday night at Knoxville.
Despite the track going away in qualifying, David managed the 12th quick time of night after coming out 24th in line. "The car was definitely nice early on," he says. "The things that (Owner/Crew chief) Bryan (Sundby) had come up with the week before knocked down about 1/3 of what our problem was. The car was really nice when the dirt had some traction in it."
Starting third in the heat, the team tried something a little different. Despite backing up, they picked up the sixth and final transfer spot to the main event. "We experimented a little bit in the heat and that backfired on us," admits David.
He would line up eleventh in the feature. "We probably just didn't keep up with the racetrack as well as we should have," says David. "I tried the wing forward, and I tried the wing back. I decided I was going to make a nice run on the top of one and two on one of the restarts, and jumped the cushion. I got up to the wall. I didn't touch it, but I got up close and personal."
David decided to try the bottom groove after that. "I stuck to the bottom after that, and we were just off," he says. "When Davey Heskin lapped me, I thought there was no sense being in the way, so I pulled in."
After mechanical ills after practice night kept them out of the season opener, the team had a rough night with the Outlaws. Saturday was a nice bounce back for the team, and they are looking forward to this Saturday night at Knoxville. "The BDS Motorsports team is definitely moving forward," says David. "We just have some other sniglets to work out. Once the car feels comfortable underneath me, I'm confident with Al Parker tuning the engines and Bryan tuning the chassis, we'll be just fine. This was the second night out, with our first being with the Outlaws. Certainly, the team is moving forward and in the right direction. I know the feel I'm looking for, and once I find that or close to it, I'll feel more competitive with the other guys."
David and the BDS Motorsports team would like to thank: Action Auto Parts, JaFar Lawn Service, Parker Engines, Maxim Chassis, Super Shox, Champion Brands, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Astro Titanium, Speedway Motors, Sign Pro of Newton, HRP, KSE Racing Products, FK Rod Ends, Kustom Sprintcar Supply, Fuel Safe, Hoosier Tire Midwest, Simpson Race Products, Sebastian Sandblasting & Powdercoating, Butlerbuilt, Schoenfeld Headers and Red Devil Brakes.

I didn't know Bil Dub wrote fiction???
Building momentum my ASS???
He went to the back every time he was on the track. That is a fact. David Hesmer has no buisness being in a 410 sprintcar. He tried driving one before and sucked at it. Fact. If you continue you may hurt yourself or someone else. You already tried to kill me the other night. You are washed up and need to go back to retirement. You should have pulled in at the drop of the green flag if you did not want to get in anybody's way because you were in everybody's way. If you are that scared to stand on the gas then stay in the pits or do us all favor and stay home. If I can scrape enough parts together I will be back on saturday and MR. HESMER I've got your number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Moore,
Why would you get on a forum and make such a statement. I have not doubt you are upset about something but I seriously doubt if Mr. Hesmer or anyone in a sprint car would try and PURPURSLY try and kill anyone. OK so the facts. He has been out of the seat a while. Yes he may have rust, and yes he will get better and gain momentum. Calling someone out and saying you have his number isn't a smart thing to do. Who are you to be judge that David Hesmer has no business in a 410 sprint car. Who are you to know he is washed up. And who are you to know if he is too scared to stand on the gas. As for me I would recommend that if you are having to scrape parts together to go race, maybe you should consider retirement. In the meantime, keep your disagreements in the pits. People like me have no business responding to these posts when we have no knowledge or proof of what happened...Just my 2 cents.

I highly doubt that is actually Mike Moore. I don't know Mike, but I can't imagine a competitor would join this board in order to hammer another driver. I could be wrong though.
Off to Grain Valley....

The problem with computers is any age can operate them and all intelligence levels have access.I would suggest going up to Mr.Hesmer and state how you feel in person instead of using a computer to express your opinion.Mr.Hesmer was an excellent 360 driver and needs some seat time .The problem is some people beleive what they read .

Not sure this is accurate but I'll stand by it. Feature winners at Knoxville, David Hesmer 65, Mikey Moore ZERO. I maybe wrong, have been before, pretty sure the numbers reflect a little something.....

I don't know if you're really Mike Moore or someone else pretending to be, but your post is absolute garbage.
If you and Dave Hesmer got together on the track and you crashed, man up and learn to be FASTER and SMOOTHER so you're not at the back of the pack and you wounldn't be around cars that are supposedly "slower" than you are.
I really thought the 69 car looked halfway decent Saturday night during the B-main, but if you really are Mike Moore and you are going to make threats on message boards, I'm glad hear you may not be back...

Arbo, coming to the Nationals this year, woo hoo (one condition, have to still be breathing, lol). If LA can beat San Jose, they can beat Detroit/Chicago, they get to the final. If Pittsburgh plays with a little more grit they can win the East also but Ottawa might give them another scare. I absolutely don't believe in the Bruins, they got lucky to beat TO in the last couple of minutes and looked lousy in most of their games, the Rangers just plain stink like they usually do come this time of the year. I cheer for the Kings because of Richards and Carter two of my ex's, they also need to grind it a bit more but they are capable, Quick needs to shut-up and play like he did last year and it will be a good final (providing they get there, lol).....

Knoxville welcomes you back. I know you will be busy but if possible maybe we can do lunch at Rib Shack or someplace. I'm retired now so have nothing but time on my hands. Heading to Grain Valley in a few minutes for the Nat ASCA tonight, then to I-80 tomorrow and McCool Jct. for Fri. Then back home for Sat. Fri and Sat aren't looking good. Planning on making the entire Indiana Speed Weeks in July. Should be a blast. Will keep in touch via email.
