How is this even considered a traveling series still? They only have 6 drivers that have competed in every show! What a disgrace, they have to break up their points in regions to make it look better too? Give me a break
do it in the dirt

Tim Shaffer and Dale Blaney need to just go to the WoO.. be nice seeing two more great drivers added to the competition. Add some young talent such as Danny Holtgraver.. really be a stacked bunch of talent if the 5 or so All Star guys just went WoO. But that's just my opinion.. I know its easy to say all this not knowing all the expenses and etc. that go into running a team and a tour. I know running a full Outlaw tour would be ungodly expensive!

Ya, agree. Was a great series back in the days of Bert Emick. About all they have going for them is the June Ohio Sprint Speedweek.

How old are you people?? Those #'s are probably about average for full time teams over the histroy of the All-Stars (and WoO too as far as that goes).
I don't remember the All-Stars ever really having more than that amount either (it's just that back in the day, the names were bigger (Frankie Kerr, Kevin Huntley, Kenny Jacobs, Joey Saldana) - now instead of 4-5 big names they only have two, big deal).
I remember the Outlaws only having the following as full time teams: Steve Kinser, Mark Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Jeff Swindell, Tim Gee, Danny Smith, and Ron Shuman (Wolfgang ran with them a lot, but hardly ever was a full-time follower, maybe 1-2 seasons at most). When Danny Smith and Tim Gee cut back, a guy like Steve Beitler or Johnny Herrerra took their place.
If you go back more than 10 years, I'm not sure the All-Stars or Outlaws EVER had double digit full time teams.

The average has been around 6 for about the past 10years I think. The good thing about the series is that they normally offer a higher purse than what most weekly series have. Normally I believe its around 5000 to win at most tracks here in Ohio with a low sanctioning fee charged to the tracks. They do normally have a good turnout of cars whenever they have a show. Again I have gone to shows at Attica, Fremont, Lernerville, Eldora and they usually get about 35-40cars that show up to each event. Now their website and all other things, that is another story. I would like to get a schedule before the first two races of the season start.

They totaled 43 cars @ The Cow Palace and 39 cars @ Port the following night with Lincoln running against them...I'll continue to support them within a three hour radios of my front porch...
Opinions may vary...

I dont mind the ASCoC...They bring a few extra fast cars and help to make a nice purse for the PA teams to take home...I'm happy to pay 18-20 to watch a ASCoC race compared to 30-35+ to watch a WOO race...
The Ohio Speedweek is awesome...They have a good thing going there...Cant wait for this years installment!

Those of you who have a "speed week" near you are very fortunate!
In the "old days of NARC" we had speed week out here. It was one fun week and I can assure you race teams were tired out by the end of the week.
Enjoy it while you still have it. With the continual escalating cost of operating a sprint car I wonder how long these 'race weeks' will continue.
I LEARNED ESP FROM MY MOM

YOU'RE COLD?"

I feel that the competition that they bring now is much better than years past.

The All-Stars get ripped on here more than the Posse, yet they always bring top-notch talent to the track. Dale Blaney and Tim Shaffer are top 10 drivers in the country. Former All-Star driver David Gravel is catching the racing world by surprise with his recent WoO performance.
Cap Henry is one of the most underrated drivers in the country and proved that again with a top-5 finish at Port Royal a few weeks back.
The other three that follow the tour are former Lernerville track champion and the future of Western PA racing, Danny Holtgraver, former Husets track champion, last years Nationals Friday night feature winner and one of the most respected drivers in the country, Justin Henderson and young Caleb Helms who came to the Grove in his first start won his star-filled heat and made the feature in a stout 43 car field.
That is a strong 6 car field that travels around for the second-tier traveling series. Ohio Speedweek is one of the richest traditions in racing these days and the ASCoC guys always win a few of the races during the week against invaders that are as good as any in the country and the tough F.A.S.T locals.
I always look forward to the ASCoC visits in PA and I like what they did splitting the regions up.

Well said Hawkeye...I was pretty impressed by the turn out and performance in "The Neutral Ground Show Down" @ Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex last Sunday...
