I'm going to be trying a couple of things this weekend at Eldora to hopefully improve the audio quality of the Dirt Radio Network broadcasts.

I've upgraded my sound equipment and my computer, and I'm hoping that I can get things "dialed in" to (eventually) provide better sound.

Without getting into too much technical detail, I'll be sending a digital audio signal to the encoder rather than an analog signal, and I'm also going to bump up the stream rate from 16kbps to 32kbps. The potential drawback is more buffering IF the internet connection isn't very good.

Again, this will be a work in progress, but I'd appreciate any feedback listeners can provide. (I can occasionally check social media and this page during breaks in the action or when support classes are racing, but I can't actually monitor the broadcast itself.)

Thanks in advance for you patience, and for your comments/suggestions.

Thanks Johnny for continually looking out for the fans and always improving the already top notch program you provide. We look forward to seeing you during the Outlaws swing through North Dakota this summer. The snow should be gone by then.

Audio sounds twice as good so far on my end, Johnny. Thanks for all that you do.

Sounds good out here on the west coast of Canada. Curious, how do you guys decide which races you are going to do video? Listening is good but seeing is believing!

Sounded great! Only drawback is having to mute the sound every time Ozzie Altman came on. Why in the world is he part of a sprint car broadcast? frown

Thanks--I'm still not done "tuning". This may turn into a process that takes a few races. Hoping I can swap some equipement this week. (The mixer I'm using may have improved the DRN audio, but it's not going to work with the P.A. system at every track. And apparently my analog-digital audio converter doesn't work with the encoder we use. Unfortunately you don't find these things out until you actually set up and hook into both the computer and the track's sound system.)

The audio was virtually flawless for me last night, if youre looking for some feedback.

What you were doing, it worked well..

Thanks,

R
