Dirtbutt is gonna love this...
Just to make it interesting and maybe a little inspirational, I think we should put a bounty on the 410's.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

I've been told by drivers that the difference between a 410 and a 360 is . Like taking a chubby girl to the prom versus the prom queen. But I know you like the ones that keep you warm in the winter and shaded in the summer. So you put your bounty because I'm a believer in the 410s on any track.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Rob,
I don't know why anybody would want to run nitro, nos, blowers or more cubic inches at Victorville or Orange Show, because unless your motor is a complete turd, we're already buzzing the tires off thing with the horsepower we got at those two tracks. More wheel spin is the last we need.

Very true, except maybe a little juice wouldn't hurt.BIG GRIN... I think Robs point, mine was, that there are a lot of alternatives besides a $40 thousand dollar plus 410 or a high $ 360 that could get the job done on both tracks.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

@ Rob/CRA91
Rob , I would listen to CRA91 , he knows what he is talkin bout , The biggest advantage of a aluminum block is the 70# of pig iron off the front end allows more rear # transfer allowing you to get in the gas/alky quicker/sooner specially in the dry slick
Runnin nitro/pop is just gonna cause yur 360 to snap the tires loose 98.7% off the time ( run it if U want but beware ) , not to mention it is H>A>R>D on parts , I have seen it twist high $ 700 gram 4340 300M material Rods into the shape of pretzels LOLLLL !!!!!!!
In order to get this thing back together again the 360's need help in the chassis dept to be competitive or maybe a few $ thrown there way (a race within a race)
As far as innovation that will come if we stay on the track Scotty is goin but after 30 years of store bought race cars it will take time to incorporate it back into the sport & as I would bet Smokey would tell ya if he were here , it takes a hell of a lotta blood sweat & tears & a whole bunch more $$$$$$$$$ & heartache to be a innovator

so instead you intend for the teams to spend a bunch of money developing different motor packages that aren't legal anywhere else?

No, but look at this video I posted on the bottom of this thread and the crowd in particular.http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum.cfm?ThreadID=76871 This is just the start of the 3rd season there and yes, it's primitive like Canyon but with Manzy's bleachers.... I know these guy's and there's more than a few cars out there that are maintained by father son teams, family's, and it's not new stuff by any means. There's even a guy from up my way here in Prescott out there, Tom Lee, who crew consists of his girlfriend! We have a bunch of young guy's running old chassis that came out for our limited series that started in Prescott Valley that are now running with our USAC Southwest series, or both. My point is any one of these racers could find a spot within the URA structure..... Just how many chassis like the one the Moose team dug out for the Victorville win at the opening of the URA are out there do you suppose, and without any restrictions there's a unlimited number of options as far as a power plant is concerned. Hell have fun with it, pretend you're cheating.
No one wants to see the 410's go away, there's always going to be, heck there has to be a series like CRA/USAC... We're just looking for a way to bring more people, both fans and racers into our sport in a affordable way, and have fun doing it.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

couldn't agree more....
additionally, one thing that could be done is to exclude engines w/ AllPro heads from the run what you brung deal, these are the standard on your "$40,000+ engines". There are dozens of -12 Brodix headed engines out there for a third the cost (or less). They give up 50HP but you can't tell that from the stands. This sport can be affordable.

You can't start excluding this and that because not only will you be opening up a whole can of worms, you loose the spirit of what's trying to be done here. Nope, no gauges being stuck down injector stacks etc, when you’re a bad ass sprint car running in the unlimited division with the URA, or it won't be unlimited; just another open comp show.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

The way to LQQK at the venues of the OSS @ VV. ,,,,, is yes looking for new ways of set-ups. ,,,, new engine ""TOYS "". ,,,, But I think the best thing is ,,,,,, this adds two more local tracks for open wheel experience . ,, there are no two tracks alike. ,,,,,, the more tracks that a driver can run on . ,,,,, the more ability he will learn to handle all types of track conditions, ,, Good or Bad . ,,,,,,,, This gives a driver four different tracks to choose from. ,,, Any time a driver can get a hands on experience on any dirt surface ,,,,,,, will just add to his own personal skills of Open wheel racing. ,,,,,, ZZ

So here's my two cents worth....99% percent of all non wing 410/unlimited races are won by this formula:best driver on that night, best set up on that night, best motor on that night with a sprinkling of racing luck. Right now that means that a 410 will win the bulk of our races. They will continue to win the bulk of our races for the foreseeable future because they are the best TEAMS. They are invested in their motor programs and comfortable with that package. We are elated that the premier teams have chosen to run with us. With patience, new teams will form and look at new combinations of the formula above and now have the opportunity to try something new. The 410 is a proven deal and has had years of tweaking to perfect it's place in sprint car racing. Our concept is to take away excuses while taking away rules. No one can say ,"Well we got beat cuz we don't have a 40k$ engine".....you now have options.....I'm sure there is another Smokey Yunick out there who can find the right driver and the right set up guy and steal the money on top. When this happens we can all look up to the sky and hear Don Flanders say,"Now that's a BADASS sprint car!"
