For those teams that plan to attend the MOWA opening weekend this Friday and Saturday at Jacksonville Speedway and 34 Raceway, here is some information you might find helpful.

Jacksonville Friday April 12th

Pit gates open at 3:00. Our fairgrounds underwent major renovations this winter and with the forecast calling for significant rain in the next few days, it is likely that we will be pitting cars different than usual to try to assure you the firmest possible ground for your tow vehicle. We are asking that if possible, you please notify us if you plan to attend and tell us the length of your tow vehicle so that we can allocate enough good pit area for our Sprints. Contact Ken Dobson by phone or text at 217-371-3653.

Heat in engines: 5:30
Pill Draw closes at 6:00
Drivers Meeting 6:00
Hot Laps 6:15

Pill Draw will be in vicinity of pit concession stand. Lineups will be posted there as well. Please Note that this is a change from typical MOWA routine at Jacksonville due to the potential for scattered pit parking.

Drivers are NOT required to purchase a temporary membership and there is no entry fee. Buy your pit passes and race.

Format: Passing Points - MOWA Style where the the dash of 8 cars is made up of the heat winners, then filled with the highest in passing points. We will redraw for the dash inversion with cars ordered by passing points.

Rules can be found here: http://www.midwestopenwheel.com/2013_Rule_Book.pdf

Pay: $2,000 to win, $200 to start.

Tires: Hoosier on all 4 corners.
Front: 85/8.0 15 D12, D15, D20
Left Rear 15.0/90 15 H12, 15.0/92 15 H12, H15, 15.0/94 15 H12, H15, 15.0/96 15 H12, H15

Right Rear 105/16.0 15 H15, H20, Medium

We do NOT have a grace period for other tires.

Mufflers ARE required. Inserts allowed.

Raceceivers are mandatory. (454.000)

Please note that the GPS address of the Speedway is 110 N. Westgate Jacksonville Illinois. However most GPS systems will bring you to the wrong gate of the fairgrounds using that address. Teams are asked to enter through the South West gate of the fairgrounds on Westgate Avenue.

Jacksonville fully expects to hold this event on Friday. We are aware of forecasted lower than normal temperatures and plan to go forward. There is little to no chance that we will cancel this event due to cold, based on the current forecast. Current forecast shows some rain over the next few days which we believe we are prepared to handle with no bad weather on race night. Unless something drastic changes, this event will be held as scheduled.
