Thunderbird Speedway Offers Thrilling Sprint Cars Friday All Eyes Are Locked Onto Harli White……… Will She Three-Peat?
John Lemon OCRS Public Relations
Tulsa Oklahoma (April 9, 2013)
– Two events of 27 are down and nobody saw it coming. Nobody. The sweet
darling from Lindsay Oklahoma tagged the “Lindsay Flash” has garnered
the attention of regional and now, national race fans, by taking the
first two Oil Capital Racing Series sprint car events to start the 2013
racing season. White is the first woman to lead the chase for the OCRS
title, the first woman to win two feature races with the series and now,
she sets her sights to become the first driver of any gender to win
three straight events to start a season. She will take her best shot
when the OCRS warriors swarm into the historic Thunderbird Speedway this
Friday in Muskogee, OK.
The new season started without the
wings atop the sprinters, which was a first for OCRS since a mid-summer
outing in 2008. White won over a hotly contested battle with Joe Wood Jr
and Andrew Deal as she took honors from her pole position starting
berth. Last week, White had to start six rows back and blitzed her way
through the field to grab win number two on the young season.
Thunderbird Speedway presents a different set of challenges than the
first two venues that were bullrings. T-Bird is anything but. Its
forever long straight-a-ways and large sweeping turns make balancing raw
speed and handling finesse a must. To power the cars at full song into
turns one and three are only for the brave to dare. If White is to
three-peat, she will have adapt to the demanding style Thunderbird
presents and there are challengers lurking who want their own turn at
glory. Not one, not two, but THREE ladies look to take flight at the Bird........
In addition to White, two other talented young, beautiful and very
fast ladies have informed OCRS their intention to take on the boys at
the Bird. Shayla Waddell, an OCRS winner just last year and Kacee
Frazier, a feature winner on the local weekly track scene and looking
for her first OCRS win, are ready to take flight on promoter’s Stanley
Slader’s monster sized ½ mile track.

In addition……
Four-time and defending OCRS champion Jamie Passmore leads the pack
of salivating wolves looking to take some of White’s momentum away.
Multi time OCRS feature winner Whit Gastineau is always a strong threat
for a win. The “Gasman” has bagged 17 victories the past three seasons.
Danny Smith has won multiple trophies as well and will be another key
player to watch. Other drivers with OCRS victory lane real estate
ownerships that are expected to compete include: Brian McClelland,
Jeremy Allen and Rafe Essary. Fred Mattox, Alex “The Jet” Sewell and
Johnny “Hotrod’ Kent are victors of main events at local track levels
that are looking for that initial OCRS triumph.
Andrew
Deal, who ran second to White in the season opener and Casey Wills, who
will make his first OCRS event after running second to Jeremy Allen in
the OCRS finale last season, are both wanting to improve that one extra
position to fall into the OCRS record books as a winner, as will several
others that will stroll through the pit gates. Not one but TWO contests to win FREE tickets and more!........
As with the first two stops on the 2013 OCRS trail, Thunderbird
Speedway will provide fans a chance to win two FREE tickets with two
free hotdogs and drinks. This time around, T-Bird’s Captain Slader will
make two such offerings to win. Here are the two contests to win and you
