Front Row Challenge/Ultimate Challenge – All Remaining Tickets Now On Sale

OSKALOOSA, IA (4/2/13) by DarinShort.com. Tickets are now on sale for the 18th Annual Musco Lighting Front Row Challenge® (August 5th) and 12th Annual Casey's General Stores Ultimate Challenge™ (August 6th) presented by Searsboro Telephone Company.

Fans can purchase tickets to each of these blockbuster events by contacting the Front Row Challenge Ent. LLC office at 515-957-0020. The office is open weekly from 10:30AM-4:30PM (Central time) on Tuesday through Thursday. Renewal ticket orders went on sale two months ago.

Tickets to each event are reserved, and are $25 for adults (ages 13 and up). Ages 12 and under is $15 per event. The wildly popular "Infield Party Pass" is sold in advance for $20 for adults and just $5 for kids. The day of each event you can purchase an Infield Party Pass for $25. There are no changes in pricing from 2012.

Here's what's on tap for this year's must-see events, held during the Cox Design and Metal Fabrication Inc. Southern Iowa Sprintweek:

Monday, August 5th – 18th Annual Musco Lighting Front Row Challenge (FRC) featuring a complete racing program for the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series – featuring a massive $30,000 to win from the back!

This is the first time the event has been sanctioned by ASCS and it will make for an exciting night of racing on the sweeping ½ mile track.

2010 Knoxville Nationals winner Tim Shaffer has already indicated he will be one of the many 'invaders' that will take on the national Lucas Oil ASCS drivers. Fans can expect a great field of cars, as the Arnold Motor Supply Knoxville 360 Nationals wraps up just two days prior to the FRC.

The $30,000 'Front Row Challenge' bonus will also carry several new value-added components for 2013. The driver who accepts the Challenge will forfeit their front row starting position, start at the tail of the field and will be awarded various bonuses as they claw their way through
the field…in addition to the $30,000 prize if they reach the finish line first. Details of those prizes and awards will be announced as the race date draws nearer.

There will also be two sets of awards in the heat races. Besides the heat winners, each heat race will have an award for the Hard Charger, thus doubling the chances of taking home an added bonus.

Tuesday, August 6th – 12th Annual Casey's General Stores Ultimate Challenge (UC) presented by Searsboro Telephone Company, with the winner of the non-winged USAC Sprint Car feature race taking home a whopping $10,000! A complete program will be on tap for the USAC Sprint Cars, plus the Hinchman Racewear Winged 305 Sprint Cars will join the night's racing program and will run heats and a championship feature. Young Kyle Larson took home the UC honors in both 2011 and 2012, and fans can expect another top-flight group of the world's best non-winged sprint drivers for 2013.

Each event will also count for the "Jesse Hockett Mr. Sprint Car Title," which awards points beginning with the 23rd Annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals through the 53rd
Annual Knoxville Nationals.

There will be over $10,000 in prizes and giveaways to both drivers and race fans for each event; including a drawing for a TV to a lucky race fan each night. Remaining prizes will be announced prior to the event. There will be more prizes, giveaways and Mardi Gras beads handed out than ever before.

Get your tickets now for the Front Row Challenge and the Ultimate Challenge, you're sure to see two great nights of racing – and have a blast at the track!

Anybody hearing anything about these races? I am curious about the switch to 360s and what a smaller purse will do the car count and crowd. Maybe Tony will bring in the fans? Really doesn't make much difference to me what motors are in the cars as long as the racing is good. I was also wondering about the mid-week one night show for the USAC guys on Tuesday. Hope they can get enough car owners to commit so we can have a full field.

Should be a great field of 360's, the 410's had been hurting the last few years but this should be a barn burner, can't wait......

PS My beloved Posse has always run well here over the years, wonder if they will have some 360's with them this year to carry on....

Is the party bus from Dingus to Osky going to run again this year?

I would guess that Tony being in attendance will pack the grandstands and infield with non-sprint car fans.

The first thing I noticed was that the Non-wing race went from $30,000 to $15,000 now to $10,000 to win over the years. My guess is that this race isn't for much longer unless more fans show up to watch.

Car count wise on Monday? I'd say it will be decent, but my gut is telling me that the 360 Nationals will fail to get to 100 entries (I am guessing it'll be lucky to get to 80) for the first time in many years. The 410 car count (even weekly) seems to be on the rebound this year here in the midwest, but 360's are starting to go away.

Car count on Tuesday I'd say maybe 25 non-wingers and 25 of the 305's.

The wingless race lost a lot when they went to USAC. One year they had almost 50 cars before it rained. Last year I think they had 23.

Hoping the 360s have a good car count, I am hoping for 40+. The Cappy Classic killed the 410 show at Osky car count wise in my opinion, so this was as good a decision as could be made.

Not to beat a dead horse, but this Cappy Classic has had a negative impact on the week (still by far the best week of the year). You've massively diluted the 360 Nationals show by taking the 410s out, taken the wingless show out of Knoxville and now you have no choice but to put the 360s out there at Osky to get cars.

The early years? Like 1996?

I agree, having USAC as the sanctioning body pretty much killed the car count.

I disagree that removing the 410's from teh final night of hte 360 Nationals diminished the event. If anything, it actually made the 360 Nationals stand alone (and they are doing well fan count wise).

The only thing I dislike about the Cappi Classic is that it's a points night for the regulars (I can see show-up points or treat it like a WoO event, but to use the standard point system and have that one night make or break someone's point title hopes is crazy to me).

Osky's car counts on Monday's were going down long before the Cappi Classic became a reality (just last year BTW).

Losing the USAC race @ Knoxville was disappointing, but the bottom line is this, 10-12.000 people would come to the 360 Nationals finale on Saturday, then stay in their campers on Sunday and only 4-5000 would show for the USAC race (even though these "fans" were here for the duration of the Nationals).

From a promotor standpoint, it made sense to have another event that the paying fans on Saturday Night would pay to see on Sunday Night (all of them). It was a good move and gives some of those travelers with virtually ZERO experience @ Knoxville a night on the track without the pressure of it being the Nationals.

Those 10-12000 fans didn't come out to the Cappy Classic either.

As far as the Front Row Challenge, you went from 39 cars in 2011 to 26 last year. Clearly the Cappy Classic had a big impact.

They've made Friday of the Nationals week so much better, so I consider it a wash, but I'll be at Pevely on Saturday Aug 3 for the Ironman as opposed to the 360 Nats.

The crowd the Cappi Classic was HUGE compared to what the USAC race was brining in though. Butts in seats will always dictate what promotors decide to run for shows.

The Front Row Challenge has fluctated in car count a LOT from year to year (I sat there one year with only 20 cars there -- and it got over @ 1:00 AM). Teams that want to race will race, they don't care if they raced the night before or not.

The last 2 years, I have attended the WoO Late Model show at Independence, IA on Monday night of that week. While it is a longer drive, it is a lot better racing than the stuff at Osky.
