Want to thank BIGROB and Mrs. BIGROB for locating me and introducing themselves. Had a nice visit prior to the race with them.

All heat races were the normal finish where you start...when it comes to the front rows. There wasn't anything exciting in any of them.

I believe Larson had a tire go down which resulted in him going to the rear. If not for that, he was the winner. None of the "front" cars were passing one another. The DASH was an excellent example.

Had two gentlemen sitting in front of me who were witnessing their first sprint car race and we had a wonderful evening talking about drivers, rigs and the WoO in general. Made for a nice time.

It's a new experience for me when it comes to sitting in the stands. Still trying to adjust to that. I do like the part of getting to visit with fans as they come in. I was there "about" 3:30 and was the second person in my section. Also got to visit with a nice couple from LeGrand as well as one of the scorer's from the Madera track.

I'm still surprised about the performance of some drivers such as Meyers, Johnson, Wilson, McCarl and both Kinsers. I can't see Steve spending the full year on tour if his results continue to be mid to back of the pack. I think Kraig is already out of provisionals and there is a long season ahead.

The travelers now have the lead on "our boys" so hopefully we have better days ahead.

Not that it's important but I'm finding race tracks sure charge high prices for food and drinks. Always going into the pits I took my own cooler and placed it in the hauler. It was hot when I arrived and I paid $4.00 for a Brisk Iced Tea. Rediculous! Looking at the price list I immediately decided I could go without food for the evening.

Wherever you are I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend. Luke 24:6

As soon as people start figuring out that the racing (with an almost complete lack of passing) will always be the same at Merced the Outlaws will likely be able to cross a stop there off their calendar. Nice grandstands, nice fairgrounds, and a nice break from what is for the most part a bleak area of California but without a complete reconfiguration of the race track that will likely never happen Merced simply will never be a place where you will ever see actual "racing".

Its almost becoming the majority of WoO races are 150 mph parades. Once in a while you will see someone move through the pack, but most of the time the hard charger starts near last and the crash or breaks count as passed. I have been a part of sprint car racing for 40 years and I doubt I will pay to watch many more races. Its sad !

Merced worked out just the way the WRG wanted. Sammy got the win with their top 2 in points Pitman and McMahan in the top 5. Merced was just single file around the bottom with little to no passing.

I drove 650 miles round trip . Loaded up my son and off we went. 200 dollars for fuel in a pick up 15 bucks at Micky Ds and seventy dollars for tickets to watch a follow the leader race. That shit WILL NOT be happening again. The only other race I will watch in no cal this year is the Gold Cup and that's because I have tickets. Was gonna do Hanford (NOT) and may not do the PAS which is my home track. Good luck WRG. To rich for me anymore.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Larson passed "about" ten cars once he restarted at the rear and almost all of them he passed on the high side. But once he reached the "front ten" he moved no further. Thankfully there was some racing with the cars running 10-15.

dirtface, based upon what some people have been paying I thought my $35 ticket, with NO FEE FOR PARKING, was a bargain compared to some other WoO events. Racing could have been better though. I guess the first night of Tulare spoiled me for good racing with the travelers.

Think we all get spoiled at Tulare.

People tend to complain about the racing when guys they don't like win the race. That said, it's not just woo races that have had little passing this year, last night at the grove, you pretty much finished where you started. Time will tell with this Hoosier tire, the racing was good and unpredictable with the goodyears. Seems like there has been more front row winners so far this year than the past couple.

1600...I was NOT rooting for a Larson win. I was simply trying to make a point that the front cars were not passing one another. Reverse it and if Sammy had gotten the lead and run over "the item" it would have been Larson winning.

I don't know what we can do to eliminate the front row winners but quite often it makes for less than exciting racing.

When TK is not blowing past cars you know something is amiss!

great point and i agree, well, almost. forget the woo and take in some ascs races. they have sanctions nationwide and put on a great show whereever they race. just sayin! and, they don't charge you $40 bucks or more, check it out when you can.

there is life after the woo-zers, race on!!!

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

that is one of the reasons i started liking the outlaws ..anyways i didnt have a good time with the same people walking in front of me to have another beer every five minutes, then to return in the middle of the sprint races.. anyway probally wont go back to merced thanks again opnwlr and see you soon
