Its just kind of confusing trying to figure out what is going on with P-Dub's crew from the southeast. I searched out some results from the Greenville-Pickens event, which I found on the tracks website. The initial winner of the event as stated on the track website was Terry Gray, that has since changed according to the update on the USCS website. http://www.uscsracing.com

In the results from the most recent event at Watermelon Capital Speedway on Sunday Terry Gray is not in the drivers list of ten entrants. Did P-Dub piss off his marquee driver? Seems as if the contingent of loyal? drivers with the USCS is shrinking more. What is going on with the USCS? There are some good young drivers winning events lately, Trey Robb, and Derek Hagar, but the veterans of P-Dub's group seem to be falling off the tour. Would be interested in finding out any details from those in the know of the USCS. Thanks(formerly rush66J)

Congratulations TREY ROBB!!!!

Rumor only, but Terry may have had a physical altercation with Trey and lost his win and may have been suspended. I wouldn't expect to see Terry racing with USCS for a while. With barely a 10 car count looks like Pete's on the mat with a two count. ASCS may be the victor in the war but they arn't doin' much better. Sprint car racing in the deep southeast is barely alive.

I'm afraid Offie is correct about the sad state of sprintcar racing in the south. The admission for last Friday's show at G-P was $20 for 12 cars, of which only about 5 were somewhat competitive, and 2 classes of street stocks. The crowd was not impressed.

True that sprint car racing might not be on the most stable of legs in the southeast, with both ASCS and the USCS. The idea to suspend(rumor)your marquee driver in Terry Gray is not going to help what already seems to be a fragile situation for P-Dub and his crew. Thanks for the information, OFFIE,and SPEED219. Any more information would help.. There has to be a way to stabalize sprint car racing in the southeast.. Heck maybe ole' P-Dub ought to just promote races out of the Memphis area.. He seems to draw favorable car counts there.. Any more info anyone has, feel free to comment.. Take care.. (formely rush66J)

Tampa has been the epicenter of sprint car racing in the south. Since Easy Bay has all but elimanated sprints there is no race track running them on a regular basis in the deep south. There are still many sprint cars in trailers and garages but the number dimishes without a place to exercise them. If someone dosen't step in and get East Bay running sprints on, at least, a bi-weekly basis soon it may not be revivable. TBARA on pavement is fairly healthy and runs throughout the state of Florida however.

Rush - I would not feel too high and mighty if I was the ASCS either. They are down to just 5 regulars on their highly touted alleged National tour.

Peace!

Trey Grey spun on his own in the opening laps of the Greenville race. Latter he again brought out another caution when he tangled with Doug Berryman. Terry got out of his car and got into an altercation with Berryman, while the rest of the field paced under caution for 20 min. Grey was allowed to continue the race for some reason unknown to me. A red was thrown so everyone could add fuel, do to the long caution. Robb had a left rear going down and with a hand full of laps left Grey passed for the lead winning by inches. After some discussion, Grey was panelized for the 2 cautions and the physical altercation. Not sure on why Grey didn't enter the next race. I'm sure he was not happy with the ruling.

I hope he returns to the next event.

Nope not feeling high and mighty, here sprintfanatic. You are correct, the ASCS is not as strong at the moment, but fortunately a driver has more options with ASCS. I was just curious to what the facts were behind Terry Gray's altercation. Its a tip-toe subject on here sometimes when one(ME) or others ask or comment on the USCS. In no way am I trying to start a war of words, but its nice to see others opinions.. More thoughts and comments are always welcome.. Thanks (formerly rush66J)

I agree.......but asie from the now defunct Mid-South and almost defunct Mid-Atlantic regions......they are putting on good race sall over the country. They have fairly high car counts in the rest of the regions but I think the most impressive is the Rocky Mountain region. Can you imagine how thrilled Rocky Mountain race fans are that once or twice a year they can see a good 20 car sprint feature?

That Rocky Mountain region is doin better than uscs as a whole. And its only a matter of time before the memphis area kicks uscs out and brings ascs back in.

And there may only be 5 national tour drivers......but due to the good regions ascs has wherever those 5 go there is almost always a very decent car count---with only a few exceptions (denison, Iowa among them---and really 20 isn;t all that bad for running against Knoxville). as long as national tour races still draw 30 cars a show it will be ok. But when 3 out of your 5 drivers are among the bets in the nation.........it hurts just as much maybe more than it helps. Wayne Johnson is unhappy (at the moment)....Gary Wright is waiting for someone to buy his whole operation........and man it is just a matter of time before Jason Johnson ends up in WoO. so 3 out of 5 could be gone at any moment. In my humble opinion.......ASCoT has got to quit running in far out places like New York, PA, Fla., and Arizona. I mean if it could work in the long term I think its great. Great for the fans up there to see some great out-of-town drivers that they otherwise might never see.........but there aren't many who can foot the bill to run that kind of schedule AND race against the likes of both Johnsons, Gary Wright, and Travis Rilat. JMO But I'm hopeful they go back to runnin all through the plains exclusively......eliminate this florida, northeast, and arizona stuff........and go back to what the schedule was like a few years back. If they ran like they did a few years ago.....just through OK, AR, TX, MO, IA, KS, NE, and maybe even into the dakotas and minnesota once......and did it for 50K........I think there would be about 10 or more drivers who would try it for a whole season. But thats just scheduling that doesn't solve how you can outdrive Wright and Johnson. I know this is not a post that some are going to like.......but I love goin to ascs races here in Oklahoma and down into Texas (bring national tour to Cowtown again please) and would really like to see more national races run down through this area. But I'd also like to see the Outlaws here too. Ah well.....as long as the racin remains great.......not a lot else matters.

ASCoT runs in Florida only for big shows during the "off season" in February and November. This is something that ASCoT has sought with East Bay and because both the purse and sanctioning fee is cheaper tham the ASCoC East Bay was/is happy to oblige them.

Again a good point made. There is no need to drag ASCoT all over the place.. The 360' Nationals is the best stage for ASCS to pit there best against all the others from across the country. The next question is,will P-Dub find a home at a central location in the southeast? Perhaps he could woo the Malden and Riverside boys into more shows. Heck maybe even over to I-30 Speedway.. Maybe he could catch a break and not get rained out like he has before.. Any thoughts???? Thanks(formerly rush66J)
