I was really impressed with Kyle Larson last night. After not being in a sprint car for four months not to mention driving a car he's never driven, he ran up front, led a few laps and if not for running low on gas had a good shot at the win.

If a person ever had any doubts on Larson, after seeing him run down Schatz and pass him, your doubts should be over. Last nights race was one of the best you will see. Of interest was Hoosier tires blowing up or going flat. I think 5-6 tires went flat.

They must have been GoodYear tires, as they are the only brand of tires that blow out.

Man oh man. The most impressive part of watching this race. The first 15 laps, Larson's car did not look like a feature winning car. Would be hard to find someone better at using what they have to make their car go fast. I've seen this time and time again with him. Same thing happened when he swept the Four Crown. Car doesn' look good, and in the blink of an eye he's challenging for the lead...
Real race cars don't have fenders...

Ahh..... It's only been a week or two since his last Sprint car race. He just ran a USAC pavement race in Fla.

Jmartz11 . . . thanks for posting that
Reminiscent of "Scruffy" huggin' the bottom but was able to find the sweet spot when he needed it. What a difference a few quarts of fuel could make! An extra gallon would have been worth $7/grand at the pay window!

I believe that race was the day of his nationwide wreck.I don't think he competed in that race.He stated last night in the post race interview that he had not been in a sprint car since November

I believe the comment was made that he was not in "Winged" sprint car since early November.

I thought Gannassi said no more non wing sprint cars last year?Kyle could have said winged sprint car I don't recall. However I think he was a little rusty early on.Sorry for the confusion.

Caring at all at this point is splitting hairs, it was nothing personal but your on hoseheads so definitely take it personally and get mad. Your post was just the last one when I hit reply. He's shown he's good no matter what he drives, and he's driven plenty of winged spring cars; at his level I think he remembers kinda how they work sometime not long into hot laps...

I don't know what he is and isn't allowed to race by Ganassi or anyone else for that matter. I was stating only when his last USAC race on pavement was, which was the week before the NWS crash. My other point is there is a significant difference in racing a winged sprint car on dirt, vs. a pavement open wheel car, either sprint or midget.

Asking you to clarify yourself is now "taking it personal"? His hot laps #'s weren't so impressive, 36th quick i believe, so he was obviously rusty. And over 30 laps, he made his share of mistakes.

I totally agree, like CRA91 said the pavement race was in a midget which i believe he won.
