FEBRUARY 4TH, 2013 (ST. LOUIS, MO) Davenport Speedway owned by Drt Trak Racing Incorporated will drop the green flag on a brand new racing season April 6th, 2013. Located on the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, IA the semi-banked ¼ mile speedway wrapped by a ½ mile dirt speedway facilitate a packed grandstand for weekly Friday night racing events.
The track originally opened as a ½ mile speedway, lacking the smaller 1/4 mile. In 1953, it became the first Iowa race track to host a NASCAR sanctioned event, holding a race for what is now the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Fifty years later, the pits are now filled with late models, modifieds, street stocks and four stocks anxious to take to the dirt surface.
The new season begins with 3 special events at the top of the racing schedule. Opening night the speedway will be occupied by the Sprint Invaders traveling series. The following weekend brings the Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series and on April 19th the Deery Brothers Summer Series drivers enter the Davenport Speedway gates. The Koehler Electric Season Points opener is scheduled for April 26th.
Davenport Speedway is excited to debut their track website to the motorsports community. Please log on at http://www.DavenportSpeedway.com to browse the new website.
The Drt Track Racing, Inc. staff would like to thank all of their track class and pace car sponsors for their continued support to the sport. These include; Petersen Plumbling & Heating, Hawkeye Auto, EMS Heating & Cooling, Koehler Electric, Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service, Eriksen Auto.

Only one open wheel race....such a shame for such a nice track in a great town. Too bad the MVFB kills off any hope for bigger/better/more frequent shows.
And BTW, I believe that the track orginally opened up as a mile racetrack a LONG time ago. You can still sorta see the old corners and backstretch along the fence in back of the pits.

Racing weekly on Friday night. Does Simmons no longer promote this track? He always has promoted Farley on Fridays.

Keith Simmons promoted 1/2 mile specials only at Davenport from the time he purchased Farley in 2001 until approx 2004. The weekly promoter of DRT Trak Racing is Bob Wagner (also had Maquoketa until the end of 2011)....he has had the track since sometime in the 1990's. (longest private promoter/fairboard realtionship in Iowa I believe)

Thanks, I knew Simmons put on specials there but didn't know someone was running it weekly. Wish they would have more sprint shows. Hopefully the Invaders draw well then maybe he will have them more.

The Mississippi Valley Fairboard makes it very difficult to have a special at the track. (they keep all concessions, demand a lot of free tickets, etc). The half mile is rarely used anymore....when Al Freiden had the specials there was 4-6 big half mile shows a year.
